My husband and I visited Curly's Waterfront Sports Bar & Grill for lunch on a Saturday. We were promptly told to seat ourselves. The restaurant was clean with a good atmosphere and a view of Pewaukee Lake. There were only a handful of other patrons at the time of our visit and yet somehow they seemed short-staffed. Our server wasn't bad but wasn't great either. I had high hopes for Curly's because they have a fantastic app menu that includes fried pickles (a rare find). The rest of the menu also seemed promising. The fried pickles were great. We both really enjoyed them. My husband and I both ordered burgers his with waffle fries and mine with regular fries. Per the gentleman who brought out our food, the cook plated our fries wrong; we made it work. The real problem was that my burger tasted like char. It was cooked appropriately on the inside but the outside was charred and all I could taste was the char, which I found very unappealing. Curly's Waterfront also charges a fee if you pay with a credit card, which I personally do not find to be an appealing practice. Overall, Curly's Waterfront Sports Bar & Grill was less impressive than I had hoped. I would give them a second go around to see if this was just a one-off and to enjoy the fried pickles.

Went at 1:00, on a Thursday. We were immediately seated, at a table of our choice, and our waiters brought our ordered drinks very quickly. The weekday special is 7$ burger baskets, so our group of 3 all got them. In less than five minutes our burgers came out. I got fries as a side, in stead of the standard chips, and they were nice, hot and delicious. The burgers were good as well, but I do not believe they are handmade. Both of our servers were very kind and fast to refill drinks. I've also had hot wings from here before- a couple years ago, and from memory, they were pretty good too. All In all everything was pretty good, if a bit pricey, but if they ever switched to handmade burgers, the place would be even better.

Nice sports bar just off of Pewaukee Lake. The food is above average. Drinks are pretty reasonably priced. The pizza was good, but kind of greasy. The cheese curds are the weird cheese blocks…not really legitimate cheese curds in my opinion. They appetizer portions were noticeably smaller this most recent visit…not really a good value for the pretzels ($6.50) or spicy chicken bites ($9.50) in my opinion…anything they were tasty. Good assortment of bar games and lots of TVs. They do have a really fun bingo night on Wednesdays. Be prepared to buy in for $40 for 4 games ($5/$5/$10$/20) but the prize pools are very nice.

Ok, so I don’t typically write reviews unless something is really really awesome or really really bad. Today’s lunch experience was really bad. The only reason I’m giving our experience two stars instead of just one is because my vodka lemonade was actually good. My wife had water, which she said was good too! And because they were out of several other apps on the menu, we tried the breaded mushrooms which weren’t very flavorful but at least they arrived a little warm. Unfortunately, the drinks were the only things that were good and it went downhill from there. We aren’t too tough to please but a day before our 32nd anniversary, we thought it would be fun to eat lunch with a lake view. It didn’t even bother us that we had to wipe our own table down from prior guests. No biggie- we totally didn’t care. But the food? It was bad. Just bad. And we totally didn’t even care about the price today. I ordered the French Dip sandwich and “upgraded” to get haystacks. Both came out cold. And I don’t mean just chilly. Ice cold. I was super hungry and left half of it there. Dipping a cold French dip sammy into cold Au jus is just not how you want to eat them. I have never ever left haystacks on my plate in my life. Ever. My wife ordered the ceasar chicken wrap. Although not horrible like mine, it wasn’t very flavorful either. And the chips they serve with the sandwiches taste generic-like. I did feel bad for the poor young lady running around, bartending by herself AND waiting tables all on her own- seemed she and the cook were the only ones working. No wonder it was all cold. When I went to pay the bill, there was another worker, a man, who took my money. The poor young lady mentioned she just lost her summer help, I do hope they get at least another server to help them. I’m hopeful these folks get it figured out- perhaps we’ll give them another try but...

Updated - We decided to go back and give Curly’s another try tonight. The bartender/waiter was awesome. He was super busy but he was efficient, friendly and attentive. There was a few hiccups when the bussers brought out the food and a few items were missing, however they quickly rectified the issues and they were very pleasant. The food was awesome, and the drinks were great. We were very happy with our visit and we will come back again .

Old Review - My Mom and I used to come here for lunch often, but the service has been steadily declining. Today, we actually got up and walked out of the restaurant. We came at noon and the place was surprisingly empty. The bartender saw us when we walked in, and we sat down at a table. We proceeded to wait fifteen minutes, and no one ever came to our table. The waitress and bartender made eye contact with us several times, but they seemed more interested in snacking back by the kitchen. When we started to get up to leave the Waitress all of a sudden says, “oh I am sorry I did not see you there”. The blatant lie about her not “seeing us there” is the part I found most irritating. We definitely have no intentions on coming back to a facility that treats its customers with...
