My friends recommended I try here for lunch. I was in the general area on a Tuesday so I decided to give it a try. I was greeted right away by a female employee and she asked what I wanted. Since I had never been, I told her I needed a minute. While I was looking over the menu, I told her I had never been there and asked for her recommendation. She suggested a turkey sandwich. I instead decided on a Reuben. She asked if I wanted my bread toasted and I said yes please. While she was making it, I looked around at snacks and drinks and another female asked me what I needed. I said I was being taken care of already and was just looking around. She snapped back "You stay with the person you started with." I was a little taken aback. Mind you, the first lady was told I had never been there yet she said nothing about that. Anyways, I watch my sandwich being made and I see the meat, sauerkraut and cheese go into a microwave. I was surprised as this was supposed to be a higher end sandwich shop. My sandwich was done and she asked me if I wanted pickles. Again, never been there before so I didn't know what to expect. I said yes and she said dill or spicy. I said dill and she filled a little take out container with 3 pickle slices, added a top and wrapped it with the sandwich. I paid $15 for a sandwich with no drink or snack items. I did get the whole sandwich which was very large. I went to my car to eat so I could take pictures and check everything out. Honestly, the microwaved corned beef was chewy, just slightly warm and the sandwich was super messy. The bread was so lightly toasted it was more like stale bread then toasted bread. And because it was so lightly toasted, the bread did not hold up well. The sandwich was big and it took me a little while to finish. I would have liked to see the bread really toasted and not just warmed up and I wish the Reuben was cooked in a conveyor oven or a sandwich press. I wish I had ordered the turkey sandwich. I will stop back, get a half sandwich next time and not order a hot sandwich...
Read moreWe were visting from Montreal and heard about this place serving giant sandwiches. The photos on social media looked super appealing so were were excited to try this.
We came around lunch time on Saturday August 30th 2025 - Upon walking in, I noticed the menu board was written in very small font and had no descriptions so it was kind of hard to figure out what we wanted.
I asked the employee for the most popular choice and she recommend the Brooklyn special which had swiss cheese, pastrami, corned beef and prosciutto. This came on a rye bread, with a type of mayonnaise and we added lettuce, tomato and onions. We got only 3 pickles for the huge sandwich which really did not seem like enough.
I appreciated how much meat there was but the overall sandwich was lacking in flavor. The "Russian dressing" tasted like regular mayo.
I did not see a regular reuben sandwich option on the menu, perhaps this was something you needed to request - but it would have been better to have a toasted bread perhaps or just a different sauce.
Portion was huge, pricing was fair, but the overall flavor was boring so that is...
Read moreWell when you talk about deli sandwiches the conversation always has to start with Brooklyn Pickle and for me it ends there too. I myself can't ever remember not being amazed by not only the quality but also the sheer size of them. Image buying 1 lb of deli meat at the grocery store then put that huge pile on quality bread with all your favorite toppings. The whole of which is more than 2 regular sized sandwiches you'd build yourself at home. Each one being made to order the way you want it.
My favorite is the "Brooklyn Pickle" (Corned beef, pastrami and Russian dressing along with all your toppings). It's a thing of beauty and extremely delicious.
Their soups are quite good too, especially the Cream of Mushroom and Barley. It has full button mushrooms in a creamy rich broth loaded up with barley. Mmm.
Keep in mind the prices are also more than fair for the portion sizes. I myself won't even consider going anywhere else for a sandwich. If it's not broke,...
