I was told by Mike to go down to the bakery at 11 AM on a Saturday to meet with a girl named Ashleigh to talk about a birthday cake that I wanted to have made for my father. Not only did they act like they never heard about it but supposedly this person couldn't even come out from the back and even acknowledge my presence. They took down my contact information and I never heard back from this person. Supposedly she tried to call me but I have no records on my phone. There are cake models on top of a cooler in front that are different size tiers and just to get a visual I wanted to know which size would be appropriate to feed the number of people that I wanted. The staff upfront didn't even seem to know which size would be the right example to show me. I'm very disappointed about the lack of communication between Mike and this cake decorator and the fact that I took the time to go down to the bakery based on what I was told and then was treated like they knew nothing about it. Very poor customer service. I wanted to get a World War II inspired cake for my father's 90th birthday and I was told that they were very excited to do this based on the email from Mike and then to be treated like they knew nothing about it was really kind of ridiculous. I only gave them two stars rather than zero or one because my husband did buy some baked goods and they aren't bad. Are they great? Not any better than any other bakery...
Read moreIt doesn't matter if you call them Black and Whites or Half Moon cookies, I think we'll all agree the ones made at Harrison Bakery are the best you've eaten. I've not seen them with a chocolate cookie anywhere else. I prefer the traditional, but the variant is worth a try. The cookie is more like a flat cupcake, which is just the way I like it. The icing is excellent. There are many more treats here that are just so good. I'd recommend the Danishes and the Poppy Seed Strudel will make you think you're in a European kitchen. At the moment, the city of Syracuse is making it a bit of a challenge to get here and Waze isn't aware of the detours. That's probably because the counter person says they change almost daily. It's worth the trip to find a way to get here, you won't be...
Read moreThis morning at Harrison Bakery I purchased 4 dozen half moon cookies to be divided between two families & delivered in two different areas of Virginia. I was wrapping & packaging the cookies myself. The cost of the cookies was $55.20. The manager, Meghan was excellent & I would like to compliment her on how she handled angry employee. I asked for a piece of tissue paper/cookie. The employee was so rude that I nearly walked out of the bakery without purchasing when Meghan stepped up & took care of the situation as well as filled my order as requested with no problem. Just wanted the owner to be aware of her good management skills & pleasant personality. I look forward to coming back again soon. ...
