Squeegy's Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Claflin

The food was very good both times we have been there. The service, on the other hand, made us feel very unwelcome! The waitress did not seem to want to deal with us both times we have been there. We watched the server help people that were there before us and people who came in after us but my husband had to go to the counter many times to ask for things and when he asked her to take the appetizer plates we were finished with so we could have room for our food she REFUSED and said, "the other lady will have to because if I touch it I HAVE TO WASH MY HANDS" We finally just moved the stuff to a different table before they would take it, and then after the other lady took it, she walked directly in and grabbed someone else's plate! DID NOT WASH HER HANDS. I'm not saying they were racist BUT I'm telling you right now my husband is a man of color and the server would not even look him in the eye, speak to him or take his plates and it was a huge sign of disrespect and I was shocked at both of the women's behavior! We always leave good tips anywhere we go and appreciate good service, and even after all of this, we still decided to leave at least a 15% tip. Not deserved at all. My husband is a good, hardworking citizen who was treated less than tonight, and they should be ashamed of their behavior! Do not judge people based on what they look like but on their character! I came here for the first date I’ve ever been on expecting a run down old bar with rude staff because that’s what I’m used to at establishments like these, instead I walked in to a quiet bar with nice respectful people I was sat in a clean and comfortable booth I loved everything about the place instantly, I ordered my drink which arrived immediately and was handed the menu I didn’t wait longer than a few minutes before having my order taken she went to the back to give the kitchen our order so me and my fiancé started an episode of our favorite show expecting a long wait but no more than 8-10 minutes pass on our episode before our full order came out I was pretty impressed with the quality of service and speed of preparation for a walk in I’ve been working at restaurants for quite a while and very rarely saw service like this my food was amazing I couldn’t finish but half of it and I got a small 😂 same with my fiancé and she also got a small we enjoyed the atmosphere and the people for sure, I will definitely be coming back in...

Went there to get food since my wife daughter and I hadn't been able to have dinner before my 2 boys were going to have a school performance. We got there at 6:50pm. There were only 2 other people there eating and had already been served. We ordered fairly quick, but 30 minutes later we still didn't have our food. Nobody had even come back to our table to see if we needed anything. We ended up having to leave without getting our food. As we left the lady with blonde hair, who was talking to people that had just came in, rudely and sarcastically says, "Well have a good night." We won't go back which is a shame.
