Wonderful Historic Restaurant!!! I come here often and the food is consistently delicious. I've had the Bartender's Special and the meat was extremely tender. Highly recommend! And if you want a burger, Country House is the place to go. The Top Drawer is the only one I order, with a blend of 3 meats, it is the best burger I've ever had. (I get it loaded with bacon, two cheeses, mushrooms- which are fresh, not canned- avocado, and onion straws on a pretzel bun. Whew! 🤪) They make a tasty grilled cheese- sometimes their oil is rancid, which you can taste on the grilled cheese, not the onion rings or fries. Their pot roast sandwich is excellent. Also their crispy chicken salad is a really great choice. I'm not personally enthralled with their soups- I'm a soup girl.. I take a pass on the soups and I've tried 3 different kinds. The salmon fillet (dinner size) is fabulous- If you can find it. It's never on the menu. I've only managed to have it one time. 😒 Even the side salad is good. The onion rings and fries are fantastic-- sautéed veggies are tasty, but again, sometimes the oil they cook them in is rancid. Coleslaw nothing special. Mixed fruit is always very fresh. I wish they'd do fried fresh mushrooms and cauliflower.

For desserts, their warm pumpkin bread pudding with cinnamon ice cream and whipped cream is a solid choice, as is their lemon berry cake.

You have to come see this place with its rich history (my parents started coming here when they were dating in high school), the ghost stories, and the tastiest comfort food. You will receive very good service, and if you're lucky enough to be there when one of the owners Debbie is there, you're in for a treat! She is a ray of sunshine! 😀

**Unfortunately, some friends can't join me because it's not handicapped-friendly. 😌

I highly recommend this gem of a local historic restaurant with its rich history, ghost stories, and wonderful comfort food with great service. Now...

Picked up an order here for a DoorDash client. Waited 20 mins past my "suggested" pickup time for 3 burgers. This place was uncontrolled chaos as I watched employees sitting at the register chatting away and eating cupcakes rather than assisting with getting orders out on time and correct. 3 burgers, 2 with fries and 1 with a baked potato as the side. Seemed simple enough to me. After the 20 min wait a young lady brings me a bag of food and as I read off the order that I need she tells me no it's the wrong order. I watch her disappear back into the kitchen and then reemerge 5 minutes later with another bag and I ask her again "3 burgers, 2 with fries and 1 with a baked potato?". She responds yes and I assume that she's correct because I watched her packing the order herself thru the kitchen door. I drop off my order. 3 mins later I get a call from the customer that they were missing their baked potato! Such a simple order and I could have forgiven the long wait as they were fairly busy but come on! I had already accepted another DoorDash order and so couldn't head back to the restaurant for the customer so I told the gentleman that he should call Doordash support AND the restaurant and that they would make it right for him either with a credit or a new driver bringing the missing part of his meal. Though I did my part I feel as though Country House cost me my perfect 5 star Doordash rating as shortly after that delivery my rating feel. Their lack of professionalism and standards when controlling their to-go orders leaves much to be desired and their staff could be way more attentive and informative to delivery drivers. Very...

Ok, this place is pretty good, but maybe we went at the wrong time. It was pretty packed at 4:30 p.m. on a Saturday. We had a table of 6, and they had a table available pretty quickly but we were pretty squished into the corner. The tables in general were jammed in pretty tight everywhere. Server was very helpful and friendly, and was good at solving issues. Took a while to get drinks, but once food was ordered it came out pretty quickly. Soup was VERY good, and burgers, etc, were okay, but not great. Maybe a little overcooked. One steak came out almost cold in the center when it was ordered medium well, but server quickly rectified and had it re-made. Pork chops were really dry, almost inedible, and server asked since she saw they weren't really touched, and we said not to worry about it. She ended up taking them off our bill without asking. Maybe I need to come back here for lunch or at a less busy time - I have been here in the past and everything was spot on. The server was truly making sure everything was on point which made the whole experience a decent one when it could have easily unraveled due to food...

This place was exceptional in all ways. I came here with some coworkers on the Fourth of July. When we first arrived, it was quite busy, so I was excited. Luckily, a couple seats at the bar freed up and we were able to all sit together instead of taking a table. Our bartender was incredible. She took not only a full bar, but made drinks for the rest of the restaurant and kept up conversation with us. I was recommended the Top Drawer Burger by her and it was fantastic. This may sound weird, but it didn’t even taste like a burger in the best way possible. It was like a melt-in-your-mouth rib-eye. Juicy and very tender. The price was a bit high, but in this case, it was worth it for the best burger I’ve had yet. The atmosphere was great and the other patrons were super friendly, which was just an added bonus. The 30 minute drive was well-worth it. I can’t recommend this place enough.

Such a cute rustic restaurant! It was a little tight inside with the tables being so close together. It seems that this is more of a local place which gives it a very homey feel. The waitress’s was very sweet and took excellent care of us! She spent time talking to all customers making personal conversations which was really nice. The food was fresh and tasted good! The spinach artichoke dip was delicious! One thing to note, they don’t use a lot of salt in their food which is an added bonus for people who are careful about sodium intake. It was great adding in however much salt we wanted instead of getting stuck with salty food.

Country House is definitely one of my all time favorite bars and restaurants! It is overwhelming cozy and oozes character and charm. I prefer to sit in the bar area, especially during the colder months, since they usually have a nice fire going. I almost always go for the Drawer Burger with cheddar cheese, grilled onions, and a pretzel bun. Onion rings are my go to side. The cheese curd appetizer is delicious (see photo). It’s definitely one of the best cheeseburgers in western suburbs of Chicago. The service is always fast and the cocktails are excellent as well. Highly recommended!
