Happy to hear of a new Greek restaurant opening in the western suburbs and had to visit. Sorry to say it didn’t meet my discerning Greek palate. First, it was a Thursday evening around 6pm. Had a reservation for 2 and was seated quickly although it was very busy and noisy. Started with cocktails and cup of avgolemono soup which was watery and too lemony which overtook the flavor. My friend had the Greek salad which she said was tasteless. I had the Pastistio which was a very generous serving but overwhelmingly loaded with a very thick layer of bechamel, again dominating the dish. The side of Briami was excellent although too salty. My friend had the fried bakalao which was dry and overdone. She complained and sent it back. The manager graciously did not charge her for her meal. Aside from a disappointing meal, the service was quick and friendly. I’m aware that Thassos is receiving good reviews but I will not return and will continue to frequent my favorite, Greek Islands in Lombard, where I always have an authentic and excellent meal with great service.

Great family dining options at Thassos Greek Restaurant. Main stay roasted favorites like chicken, lamb and many seafood options. The staff did a great job to accommodate our family gathering of fifty people with a select a la carte menu. Fresh bread, spanikopita, calamari, lemon chicken rice soup and a choice of chicken souvlaki or fried cod. The chicken was well grilled accompanied with rice and grilled potatoes. The fried fish came with skordalia a potatoes spread with plenty of garlic and lemon. Tasty, but not to mistake as a regular "whipped potato"... Baklava and rizogalo rounded out the desserts. Wine was flowing and so was the selection of beer. Try the Greek Mythos, a genuine imported lager. Great service, quick kitchen and bartenders.Thassos staff is very accommodating and can substitute ingredients if needed. Would definitely recommend Thassos for large parties or in need of a casual date night.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED MY EXPERIENCE AT THASSOS! 🎉 I recommend 10/10! I celebrated the completion of my master’s degree with about 50 guests, and the evening went wonderfully. Everyone, including the manager/owner (Nikos), were very attentive to my experience and ensured everyone was served according to their dietary needs/preferences. Things were done promptly, and my guests kept raving about the food — everything was delicious! Additionally, I really appreciated that they were willing to rearrange the space to accommodate my event. I was also allowed to bring decorations to the space, which really made it all that more special to me. At the end of the evening, the staff (specifically Natasha) were very kind to me and gifted me flowers — they exceeded all expectations. Thank you, Thassos. I will always remember this celebration! ❤️

Thassos Greek Restaurant provided a phenomenal experience from start to finish, making it one of the most memorable date nights my boyfriend and I have ever had. This restaurant truly delivers on every level—exceptional food, impeccable service, and an atmosphere that feels both luxurious and inviting. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to slow down and savor every moment.

I ordered the lamb chops, and I can confidently say they were the best I’ve ever had. Perfectly cooked, tender, and seasoned to perfection, each bite was an explosion of flavor. The accompanying sides were equally delightful, complementing the lamb chops beautifully and rounding out the dish. Yes, the prices are on the higher side, but the quality and attention to detail make it worth every penny. You’re not just paying for a meal—you’re paying for an experience.

The atmosphere at Thassos is absolutely lovely. The elegant decor, soft lighting, and relaxing ambiance create the perfect setting for a romantic evening. It feels intimate and sophisticated, yet welcoming, striking the perfect balance for a special night out. The staff only enhanced the experience—they were attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly without being overbearing. You can tell they take great pride in ensuring every guest has a wonderful time.

From the exquisite food to the charming ambiance, Thassos Greek Restaurant exceeded all of our expectations. It’s a fantastic spot for a date night, celebration, or any occasion where you want something truly special. My boyfriend and I left feeling so happy and satisfied, already planning when we can come back again. If you’re looking for a place to indulge in incredible Greek cuisine and a memorable dining experience, look no further than Thassos. Five stars,...

We dined at Thassos yesterday evening for the first time. Every person in my group was thoroughly impressed with this place. The service was truly exceptional, and on such a busy Saturday night. We arrived early for our reservation and gladly sat at the bar for a drink before being seated at our appropriate time. Bar service was equally impressive, with a knowledgeable bartender making spot-on wine suggestions and educating us on the large selection of Greek wines available. one person in my group ordered the Pomegranate Martini and said it was outstanding. Our dinner was incredible. Started with the famous saganaki (so nice to see a Greek restaurant continue the tradition of lighting it on fire and yelling OPA). We then moved on to the grilled octopus- perfectly charred on the outside and yet, was not tough or chewy. Then we moved onto the Greek Salad and the Village Salad as a pre-course. The vegetables were so fresh i could swear there had to have been a growing garden back there! The entrees were the spotlight: Thin cut lamb chops cooked to perfection, the pastitsio which was so flavorful and fresh. I ordered the broiled chicken which i enjoyed thoroughly. For dessert, we enjoyed the classic Baklava and a mountain piece of chocolate fudge cake- JUST WOW! Our server had suggested the espresso martini for an after dinner drink, claiming 'it would be the best espresso martini you've ever had'. Well, that was in fact the best espresso martini i have ever had- and yes, it was made with real espresso, not the imitation concoctions that some places do for the 'easy way'- We could tell the difference. All around, Thassos is a true destination restaurant, and we'll be frequenting there for our...

Our reservation was for 7:30. When we arrived our table wasn't ready and we weren't seated until 8:10, pm. We weren't served until almost 10 pm. Long story short Our server wasn't available until much later. We were asked for drinks and appetizers and served bread and oil and left to sit. The room we were seated in had incredibly loud acoustics and it was just awful to be surrounded by unusual incredible loudness for 2.5 hours. There was no way we could hold conversations unless we were to shout . I do feel bad for the people who work in this noise. Another thing we were constantly bumped into or been asked to be excused by servers or bus boys so we had to tuck tight under the table to get out of the way. There was no way to have a peaceful meal. The way plates were served was also an issue, they were served across the table instead of from the side.. appetizers were served instead of the middle of table, dropped in front of someone. And the food - not a single thing that we ordered that I would recommend, none would be really well seasoned and tasty, and none that I would order again... by the time the food arrived we were tired spmewhat sleepy and stuffed with bread.. We normally do love Greek food and were excited to sample Thassos. Sad to say we didn't find what we needed here and were disappointed. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because its reasonably clean and nice decor but otherwise Im just simply disappointed and wished it would be different, overall however honestly they shouldn't...
