This was our first time here & it will DEFINITELY not be the last.
The highlights:
Amazing food😋 I got the mushroom Swiss burger & my husband got the chicken pesto panini. Delicious, well-seasoned, & cooked to order with substitutions. We got waters & the iced violet matcha - floral, mellow, & earthy. Everything a matcha should be. We both also got a piece of lemon berry mascarpone cake…moist, cold, & perfectly sweet, creamy, & lemony. Thank goodness it’s a regular dessert they have often because I already know I’m getting a piece next time.
Service was ✨OUTSTANDING✨ The waitress that took our order was friendly & easy to talk to & the chef came out to introduce himself to make sure we got things made exactly how we want. He also delivered our meals too. Right before we left, we found out that he & his wife are the owners - so bonus points for professionalism & hospitality. It is clear he loves what he does & wants people to enjoy their experience. Class act 😎
Gorgeous atmosphere 😌 The building is an original old-time stone house (hence the name). Think Magnolia with PA Dutch charm - exposed beams, gorgeous antique doors, & deep windowsills. So glad the space has a new life as a cafe - seriously good business decision. The tables & seats weren’t squished together or chaotic. Lots of room, seating choices, & an adorable, functional front of house for ordering & featuring local sweet treats.
Long story short, LEAGUES above a Starbucks. Even wayyy better than Fox Meadows right down the road (& yes I love that place too).

Read moreGreat food in a wonderful atmosphere. The food was carefully prepared and wonderful. The portions were good sized. Not excessively large and certainly not small. It is nice to find a place that serves reasonable sized potions. I had a Cubano sandwich which was perfectly grilled. The flavors were excellent and the bread crisp and warm. Only thing I did not care for was the mustard (personal taste) which was not listed on the menu description (the owner plans to correct this). But even with the mustard this was a great sandwich. My wife got the Garlic Shrimp Quinoa which was excellent as well. The lunch menu was not huge, but it was a selection of unique and wonderful sounding dishes. We look forward to trying some others. They also have a large selection of coffees and pastries which we did not try this time. The atmosphere was quaint and warm. And the place was spotlessly clean. The old stone house with wooden beams give it a pleasantly rustic and welcoming feel. The outside dining area was well laid out and there is even a small covered area that looks charming (my picture does not do it justice) The owner was friendly and helpful and the staff were very pleasant. Prices were reasonable. Bottom line, it is worth the drive out from Ephrata to visit. We...
Read moreJan 2024: We enjoyed a wonderful dinner out with good service, very tasty sandwiches, and this time, a special treat of live music. I upgraded to 5 stars all around! Good job Stonehouse Café
Dec 2022: The atmosphere is charming and inviting. However, the temperature is not ideal. We originally found a table next to a window but moved because it felt drafty. I would hate to see their heating bill! After we ordered our at the register, we received our drinks in a few minutes, which was a great improvement from our last visit. The food was quite tasty and nicely presented. Portions were good and prices reasonable. My wife and I ate for $30 with a coupon that took off $5. I increased my rating to 4 stars.
Jan 2022: The decor is nice, but the temperature was a bit low, and we were basically chilly throughout the entire meal. We waited 30+ minutes to get drinks, which is not good. Although we received several apologies due to lack of staff, we feel the drinks of the current customer should be completed BEFORE taking the next order, especially since there was only one person behind the counter. The food came out ~40 minutes after ordering (the chef expressed personal apologies to us and several others), but it seemed to be a bit average quality. I doubt we...
