I really wanted to like this place. Not far from my home and you can see the pride they have in their restaurant, although the owner of the strip mall they are in should be ashamed of themselves. I ordered to go the General Tso's chicken and an order of Sweet and Sour chicken with an upgrade to the family dinner which also came with an egg roll (it was fine), a crab Rangoon (pretty good), and a cup of soup. I picked the Hot and Sour soup which was one of the better soups I've had recently. While waiting for my order, the dishes coming out looked very nice and the restaurant had a good number of customers. What killed it for me was the quality of the chicken. It was so poor: tough, chewy, stringy and even crunchy but not from the batter. Both of my dishes were chicken and both were high risk of choking. Either charge more, give me less, negotiate with the butcher, or have your cook do a better job with prepping the protein (this would help some since I was served chicken parts that I shouldn't have been). I was happy that my Sweet & Sour chicken came with carrots, green peppers and pineapple chunks. You don't see this much anymore. The sweet and sour sauce freaked me out. It is a very blood red color. Trying not to think about how much dye could be in it, I was stressed about spilling any on me or the carpet or anywhere for that matter. I also wandered if my mouth/teeth were going to look like a vampire. Thankfully, no. My dinners also came with a tasty almond cookie, a fortune cookie, and a hard piece of peppermint candy. Quite the treat bag. A couple of side notes: both dinners came with fried rice. I prefer white rice, but that is on me for not asking. The guy asked if I needed any sauces or silverware with my to go order. Restaurants are hard to run and make a profit, so I was happy he asked since I like supporting local businesses by not adding to their costs and in turn I'm not adding to my trash or an already overflowing soy sauce drawer. I was impressed on how everything was...
Read moreMy girlfriend and her family have been going here for 20 years. I was weiry based on the run down look of the strip mall. My first experience eating here with them, the owners wife called them by their first names, asked if they were having the usual with hot tea? They said yes. The food was amazing, the dinner prices were great. I had the House special: Picked from the house special main dishes(about 15 options), soup, crab Rangoon or egg roll. Runs about $9.99. Most times I have left overs to take home. Then a guy at work convinced me to try Bo Lings, and I did. It was at that moment I feel in love with Chinese Gardens. As good as Bo Lings was, Chinese Garden was even better without the fancy price tag. Not once have I ever had a bad meal here. I have tried a lot of hole in the wall Chinese restaurants, and had some bad/ not appetizing food. Now that I have found a piece of heaven, I bring all my friends and...
Read moreWe have lived in this area for 50+ years. We loved the Chinese food here from "Tom" for years. Then he left, it closed and reopened with a new look, new name and new owners. Thank you Ben and Shelang for 30+ years of good food, friendship, and support of this community. Your server is normally one of the owners and their care and friendship is genuine. We eat here 2-3 times a week. Trust me the 5 stars throughout the reviews are genuine and the 2 star ones are suspect mentioning things like "waiting for crab legs"? which they have never had on their buffet. Currently we are "social distancing" during a panedemic and about the only thing we venture out for is "curbside pickup" from Chinese Gardens. I went 2 weeks without it and cried when I got home with my Garlic Chicken, Crab Rangoon and egg drop soup. It felt like the only bit of...
