Was in the area and thought why not give this local place a chance. Figured itâs always good to give back to the local businesses. But Iâll stick with Leoâs or Big Boy from now on. For the price $14 dollars for an omelette, I was expecting to get something that would stand out and wow me. It was just a grease drenched mess that looked like no one put any effort into plate presentation nor thought a flavor profile would be what could actually justify the price. Which normally wouldnât bother me since ever moving back to Michigan it seems to be the standard that food doesnât have flavor or seasoning to it. Just bland food. Kinda like something you would get from your high school cafeteria as a kid. I can look past the no flavor as long as the service is above average. In this case, from standing in line to pick my food up, I could see that customer services isnât the standard at the Lennon Cafe. The moment I walked in I wasnât greeted with a hello but instead I was greeted with canât you read the sign. Wait to be seated. In which I said I had a pick up order. Then the one server instructed me to stand in an area while I wait for me food. Only for another Server to walk around the corner and tell me to me move out of the way. When it was my time to pick my food up, I mentioned the name that order was under. The individual (not sure of their name since they did not have a name tag on) [will just say they look like a cheaper rundown version of Snookie from Jersey Shore that may stay under the The Steel Pier] was talking to me in a low voice and not looking at me while they were talking to me, snapped back and got loud and said what are you looking at? Then proceeded to tell everyone around her what is this guys problem he is looking at me. And starts laughing. Iâm sorry but for someone that has hearing problems and is deaf in one ear, it helps to look at someone talking to me so I can read their lips and understand what they are saying. I can state I was rather taken back that someone that works in customer service even more so works for tips would do something like that when all I was doing was to try reading your lips since this person doesnât have the common courtesy to look at the person they are talking to. To make things even worse, I used contactless payment (which Lennon Cafe google review says they accept that type of payment) and the individual behind the counter grew upset and said âI only do cashâ and told me if Iâd want to use contactless payment then I can walk around the counter and do it myself! I understand that everyone has their bad days and may have things going on in their personal lives. But to be flat out rude for no apparent reason to some is just uncalled for. Iâll be sure to let all my friends that are hard of hearing know to stay away from this establishment. Might let anyone I know that falls under ADA to stay clear of this place so they donât have to be signaled out for any condition that they may have and be embarrassed beyond belief. Itâs a real shame, itâs to the point that I donât take my family out to eat anymore cause it seems that being a guest to an establishment is a burden to those that work in those establishments and have that sense of entitlement. I just hope you never have to deal with being hard of hearing or have any other medical conditions that are out of your control. Never filled one of these reviews out before but figured others in my situation should be warned about the...
Read moreMy fiancĂ© and I decided to try this cafe out for Mothers Day brunch. Iâm an extremely patient person and I know they were busy for the holiday. However, it is a small cafe and they were not overly busy compared to most restaurants, even on a normal day. The service could have gone quicker if they were more organized. We waited 15-20 minutes for a table which is fine and completely understandable. However, it was just me and my fiancĂ© and we ordered simple dishes (eggs and toast, French toast). We waited a full hour (after getting a table) for our food before we decided to walk out and just pay for our drinks. Their excuse was âthey have to go in orderâ. So youâre telling me I have to wait for a party of six that was seated before us that ordered who knows what (they serve steaks that could take awhile, etc.) before two people can get two very simple dishes in a decent amount of time, even for a holiday??? On top of that I watched people seated after us get their food. The problem was they had multiple waitresses on all tables and no âassignedâ waitress. So I wouldnât be surprised if they never even entered our ticket to begin with until my fiancĂ© said something. When we went to walk out/pay for the coffee they said âitâll just be a few more minutesâ but we were over it at that point. Again, very obvious they forgot to put in the order. The staff was kind. Canât comment on the food since we never got it. If youâre expecting a big crowd, get more...
Read moreI have been coming to the Lennon Cafe since we moved to the area back in the 90's. The food has always been great, with a welcoming staff, almost like coming home. Now my kids and husband love the Lennon Cafe as much as me. I enjoy seeing how much pride and love is taken in the food and atmosphere. It shows! As soon as you walk in to smiling faces and the owner cooking, even coming out to chat with us, making sure everything is alright. Those little details make us come back over and over, and I hope you all give them a try! It's worth the drive and is a cute little Town as well. Check their Facebook page out for the specials, we just found out about it. Friday is all you can eat Fish day and is very affordable, I'd say better than most I've had. Their brosted chicken chicken is delicious!!!! I could go on and on, but if you try anything, try the Oriental Chicken Wrap. OMG, it's delicious. I have a few pics. Thank you Lennon Cafe for the great food and service that's brought our family back for all...
