Though I definitely love supporting local businesses, I was a disappointed in this “gem” of a local restaurant. Our first experience here, my party and I had dinner here on a Friday evening. We all ordered different meats and sides so we could sample as much as possible. The vegetables and potato salad were very bland with little flavor. The black eyed peas were still hard in the center and, though a piece of pork was in the serving, there was no flavor- tasted like straight from a can and heated only with pork. One of us had the meatloaf and the sauce on top was not offered as optional. The meat was so covered in red sauce, you couldn’t enjoy the actual meatloaf and he had to scrape it off to enjoy it. The cornbread was good and the biscuits were good, tho overcooked. The burgers seemed to be a bit better and all that had them enjoyed them, but claimed they were not worth $15.99. What bothered us most were the conditions of the actual insides of the restaurant itself. There was leftover food on the table and it was sticky, there was the previous customers’ food in the seats, etc. The restaurant was crowded with first time guests, so it might’ve been difficult to get to everything, I don’t know, but they seemed to have ample help. Granted, it had rained the day before and muddy floors will happen, but food left on the floor, between customers, and muddy napkins (we think it was mud) as well as trash on the floor just isn’t acceptable, no matter HOW busy - the pictures I’ve added were just around OUR immediate table. It was gross to be honest. There were also children who appeared to belong to an employee running loose in the restaurant. One of them was seen sticking her hands in the two bowls of remaining salad at the bar, as well as using her hands to pick cheese, dressing or possibly croutons out of the other smaller containers and putting them in her mouth…she smiled at us like she’d been caught and ran away. We didn’t eat salad, but had we, we would’ve listened to our appetite. After a long work week, you really just want to unwind and enjoy a good meal with friends. That didn’t happen for us, but we are hoping to try again - maybe for breakfast. I wish this local business the best and hope they truly thrive here, as the area needs good selections of restaurants and food.

I took my family out for dinner Saturday night and we wanted something different so we decided to try out this place. There was 5 adults 2 toddlers and a 7 year old. When we walked in the place was packed but we were politely greeted by a staff member that informed us there would be a 20 minute wait which was fine. She then came back to let us k ow if the kids wanted their face painted she was doing free face painting that night which they loved! After what seemed like no time at all they sat out large party and took out drink orders and kids orders right away which is always great to get the little ones settled in and feed. Everything on the menu looked great but I settled in the hot mess which pictured is was not mess but a mouth full of flavor is what you got. A delicious burger, crispy fries and a sweet tea hit the spot for me. Dad had a country fried steak the size of his plate and I heard no complaints out of anyone except man they was full and it was delicious. Definitely give them a try. Great service, food and price! We will be back

If I could rate this place a million stars, I would do it in a heart beat! I stopped in to pick up breakfast for myself, my boyfriend, and friends after a weekend of shenanigans. This was the only place within a 10 miles radius that seemed decent and shoowee, it did NOT disappoint! The staff immediately greeted me when I walked in and was so kind. The menu is extensive and includes everything you’d expect from a hole-in-the-wall gem.

While I waited, I had the privilege of chatting with several of the ladies who work there. They were so funny and kind and it truly made my morning! Three Heifers and a Hotplate has the kind of rich and inviting atmosphere most restaurants can only dream of. Even if the food was trash I would come back just to hang out in there again. Fortunately, the quality of the food is equal to the vibe of the space! The biscuits themselves were heavenly. Buttery and fluffy and absolutely stuffed with our fillings of choice. From my sausage and cheese to the chicken, egg, and cheese my boyfriend indulged in to the plain egg and cheese eaten by a friend, they were huge, flavorful, and perfectly cooked.

Whether you’re a local or simply passing through like me, do yourself a favor and stop in for a glass of tea and a meal. I guarantee, you won’t be...
