I pulled into the drive-thru around 9:15 on Sunday, April 28, 2024, and a lady took my order. I had planned on using the app but there were 2 different breakfast deals and I wasn't sure which one I wanted until I saw the menu prices so I knew ahead of time I couldn't have a code ready until after I ordered.
When I got up to the window, I saw the prices and told the lady what I wanted. However, when I clicked on the offer it turned out to be a "mobile only" offer. I apologized to her for the delay, explained that I had to do a mobile order to get the deal and then sat in the drive-thru for another minute until my order was completed. I gave her the order number and then pulled up.
At the first window was a heavy set middle-aged bald white man who says, "$7.44". I said, "There is no planet where I pay $7.44 for a sandwich and a soda; that's why I used the app. The code is 1624." and I held the phone toward him so he could see the order to verify it was at his location and that I had paid through the connected card. He replies, "It says invalid code." I reply, "OK, but take a look at my phone- I paid and it shows this location." He says, "Invalid code." and looks at me like I am an idiot. I say, "Well, can you get a manager involved? I already paid?" He says, "I am the manager. You must have ordered it for inside, just pull up to the next window and have them take a look." I said "OK" and pulled forward.
As I am pulling away, I hear him say, "D*&khead". Now, I was actually calm and cool until I heard that. To me, the whole thing up until that point was no big deal- just one of those little hiccups with McDonald's app ordering. Had there have not been a car behind me I would have backed up to confront him. When I got to the window, I did, much to my regret, respond and I was not pleasant about it- yelling that he actually looked like a you-know-what and was a MFer and so forth making sure that I was loud enough that he could hear me in the back.
It's important for anyone reading this review to know that I was not acting like a d...head until I got called one by the manager. It's also important to know that I deeply regret making MY choice to lose my cool over HIS insult. I should have kept calm, moved on, then wrote this review...not one of my prouder moments.
However, let's pretend for one second that I was the one being a d...head FIRST (and we are pretending). 2 wrongs don't make a right. I wasn't right to react to his insult the way I did and he wasn't right insulting me in the first place. No wonder this McDonald's has a 3.6 star rating. There is clearly a leadership void centered around a miserable, classless, and immature "boss".
Obviously, under the stress and guilty feelings of holding up the drive-thru to make my "mobile only" order, I must have chosen pick up inside instead of drive-thru. My bad. Sorry. I don't think that rates me being rudely insulted. Additionally, 1) This can't be the first time that's happened. It's probably a common occurrence. 2) I blame corporate McDonalds for creating these situations.
If you can sell me a sandwich for $2 in the app, you can allow me to order it at the drive-thru and have them ring it up...Seriously, I get that in app offers must be done "in app" which means by CODE...but "mobile only" orders are just plain dumb. For a large corporation, you guys still have moments where you are idiots...this is one and it contributed to 2 d...heads acting out in front of your staff and your customers. (Side note: get new RELIABLE ice cream machines...at ALL McDs. Your "Ice Cream Machine Is Broken" situation is meteorically dumb.)
Check the records: For months now, I have been getting breakfast 4 or 5 times a week at various McDonald's (mainly because I love your Coke Zero- It tastes better there for some reason.) plus lunch or dinner once a twice. Not anymore, I don't want to chance run into any of your...
Read morehad an extremely disappointing experience at this McDonaldâs location. I placed a mobile order and, upon arriving at the drive-thru speaker, I informed the staff that I had a mobile order. I was told to âwait a minute.â After waiting a few minutes in silence, I repeated that I had a mobile order and provided my code. There was still no response for at least three minutes. Finally, someone asked, âWhat do you want?â I replied that I had already stated it was a mobile order for the third time, and I was told to âgo to the second window.â
After waiting at the second window for several minutes, I was handed my drink. When I asked for a receipt, I was rudely told, âWe ainât got one.â I waited again and was eventually handed my food, but I had to ask for the ketchup, dipping sauce (which I had ordered), and napkins.
To top it all off, the food was inedible. The fries were raw, and the chicken nuggets were so bad that even my dog wouldnât eat them. If youâre looking for decent food and courteous staff, this McDonaldâs is definitely not the...
Read moreI ordered though the drive thru 20 PC nugget, lg strawberry shake w extra whip cream, and a mocha frappe w a shot of espresso without whip cream. I requested that the nuggets were made fresh then. Of course I get home and they were not. Half of them were even a different color and u could see they were old just looking in the box. After tasting one it was obvious they were old. The frappe had whip cream. When she took it back after I told her it was suppose to be no whip cream she just scrapped it off and left my cup 1/4 of the way from full bc she didnt want to remake it. In the beginning when this McDonald's opened I was really impressed with the quality and the short wait times. Recently, though, the last three visits I've had there were horrible. The food has been old and disgusting and when I get home theres no receipt so calling is pointless. *today I called them eventhough there was no receipt, and the manager immediately said...
