I'm not a vegan. But my girl is. So it's difficult for us to find a restaurant that offers both good vegan and non-vegan options. We've tried lots of places, and lots more. She introduced me to the water garden the other day and I have to admit that it was a good choice. I am definitely a meat eater and not a huge fan of vegan substitutes, however, having sampled lots of vegan things and most of the time being highly disappointed as a staunch meat eating loving guy I admit that the lady at the water garden makes killer tofu meat substitute. I'll never pass on my meat for it, but I admit it was tasty.
Another point I want to acknowledge is the quantity to price point ratio. Often I am disappointed with the amount of food received for the price I pay for it. Most vegan places I've tried leave me feeling as though I'm paying for the "privilege" of being THEIR customer rather than focusing on the food. The water garden cafe does not. The quality and quantity is more than fair for the price. In fact, I'm happy to tip rather than feeling obligated to do so.
My recommendation to you? Vegan or not, try this place if you have not and if you have, take a friend for...
