Great little Mexican restaurant. Ample indoor & outdoor seating - the outdoor area is covered. The restaurant is bright and spacious, and staff is friendly, welcoming & helpful. Colorful signage invites diners to sit wherever they like. Inside or out. We were greeted promptly. We needed a minute to decide, and she brought us out homemade tortilla chips with warm queso & salsa. So good! I had two corn tacos - chorizo & pollo. Gray had a carne asada chimi. Our server let us know that there was a topping/salad bar inside. It had a nice variety. We noticed others enjoying a cup of bean soup and asked if we could get one as well. She was happy to oblige and brought it out promptly. Gray said his chimi was crisp and well fried, if a bit small. I had too many chips and wasn't able to finish my tacos, so Gray was happy to enjoy the second one.

I had the pollo taco, and it was yummy. The chorizo ended up going to Gray, which was fine because I found it to be a little bit on the hot side for me (sadly, I'm a wimp when it comes to hot food).

To sum up, the food was fresh, well prepared, and tasty. Service was fast & friendly. The restaurant and outdoor seating area were clean & spacious. And the restrooms were bright & clean also.

When we arrived, there was a sign of a door saying that it was cash only at the moment. However, by the time we finished, the sign was taken down. So I don't know if it was a temporary situation or something to do during lunch time. So, just be aware that payments might need to be in cash.

We drive through this area often when traveling back & forth between Miami & the Tampa Bay area, and I can see this becoming a frequent lunch choice...

A Flavorful Mexican Gem: Jalapeño

Jalapeño, located at 444 E Sugarland Ave, Clewiston, FL 33440, is a fantastic Mexican restaurant that truly captures the essence of authentic flavors and vibrant culture. From the moment you step in, the warm and inviting atmosphere makes you feel right at home.

The menu offers a wide range of classic dishes, from perfectly seasoned tacos to rich and creamy enchiladas. Their homemade guacamole is a must-try—fresh, zesty, and pairs perfectly with their crispy tortilla chips. The portions are generous, and the presentation is always on point.

What sets Jalapeño apart is their attention to detail and excellent customer service. The staff is friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, always happy to make recommendations.

If you’re a fan of spice, their signature sauces add a delightful kick to any dish. Don’t forget to try their refreshing margaritas or horchata for a complete experience!

Whether you’re stopping by for a casual lunch or a festive dinner, Jalapeño is a culinary delight that never disappoints. Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic Mexican cuisine!

Came in to have dinner. "Impressed" doesn't do service to this place. The moment we walked in we were given complementary cups of beans, piping hot too. They have a bar where you can get toppings for your food, at no additional charge. They also have a bunch of different choices of meat, and (at least as far as I can tell) you can have those meats with any type of entree (taco, tostada, burrito, etc). I personally had a beef burrito, and honestly you can taste the effort put into it. I believe they also make their own tortilla chips, which they sell in huge bags too if you want to take them home (we did). There was very little to complain about this place. It can get a little noisy when busy, but even then I got a sense of community from that. Next time we're in town we'll definitely stop by again.

Also would like to note my folks were thoroughly impressed too. My mom went so far as to say that it's the best Mexican she's had...
