From the moment you arrive at Bacova Beer Company in Hot Springs, Virginia, you can feel the warmth and care poured into every pint. Founded in November 2018, this small family‑run brewery nestled in a mountain valley in Bath County prides itself on “brewing truth, not trends.” Their mission is to honor America’s beer heritage through small‑batch, handcrafted beers brewed on a five‑barrel brewhouse, using pure water and high‑quality malted barley for maximum flavor and character .
Inside the taproom, everything feels authentically local. Rustic wood accents and a cozy layout make the space feel like a long‑standing community pub. At the same time, the inviting outdoor seating on the porch offers a bright spot to enjoy a flight or four‑pack as you take in the mountain valley air .
The beer selection is impressive — a rotating lineup of house‑brewed ales and lagers each boasting their own distinct flavors. Favorites like Hay Fever and their Red Ale earn repeat visits, while others like Dirt Surfin Pale Ale and Furious George English Bitter have earned high praise in craft beer circles .
But this isn’t just about the brews — the kitchen hits the mark too. Their wings, available in Honey BBQ, Garlic Parmesan, or Classic Hot, are consistently described as “on point” — plump, flavorful, and perfectly sauced . Add to that their lineup of flatbreads, sandwiches (the Bacova Reuben and Furious Club are standouts), and snacks like nachos or pretzel bites, and you’ve got a menu well‑aligned to complement the beer selection .
Service here feels genuine and friendly. Reviewers often highlight the hospitality of owners Seth and Emily and staff like Cody, Kim, George, and Asher — people who really make the guest experience shine . One local even says: “The food is good. The beer is great. The atmosphere is the best part.” Another praised staff who “went above and beyond”, offering suggestions and local insight .
All in all, Bacova Beer Company delivers:
⚙️ A strong selection of craft beers brewed on‑site with passion and consistency
🪑 A comfortable, open taproom and inviting outdoor seating that makes every visit feel relaxed and welcoming
🍗 Wings that truly deliver — generous, flavorful, and crispy where they count

Read moreWhat a great experience! I walked in earlier in the day to check the place out, the offer flights of their beers brewed in house. When they get very busy they do not have flights, which is understandable. Our bartender was amazing, she was so polite, helpful and welcoming.
I tried their pepperoni flatbread, and their meatlovers flatbread. The pepperoni flatbread was delicious and didn't have a spicy pepperoni so I especially enjoyed it! I do wish it had more pepperoni though. The meatlovers flatbread was also good, it was completely loaded with meat, it was unbelievable and completely reasonably priced for what I got! I do wish that it had a little more cheese, maybe add some beneath the toppings and some on top.
I also tried their wings, I tried the garlic parmasean wings and holy cow were they delicious! The chicken was doused in a garlic parmasean mix, the inside was juicy, mouthwatering and the outside was crispy and crunchy. These were one of the best wings I have ever had.
I went on a Saturday night and they had live music starting at 7, it was very nice and also crowded.
The beer must be ordered at the bar and the food must be order around the corner of the bar. There is no table service besides the fact that they bring the...
Read morePassing through here on way back from vacation. Wife and I split club sandwich and tater tots. Tots were excellent- we got the smaller size and it was plenty.
I have to talk about this club sandwich. I thought it was really good. Soft bread, and the ham was heated up. Some kind of mild mustard in there, and it was just delicious! I told the cooks on the way out how much I liked it, and wife chimed in about his it was the best club sangwich she’s ever had. She even took their pictures.
Anyway, they use the pizza oven to heat up the meat and I think that makes the sandwich. Whatever they do, it’s worth the drive.
Had a long drive ahead so didn’t get beer, but looked like some...
