Chicken Shack Clinton Twp. — Restaurant in Clinton Township

Just ordered a carry out from here, I haven’t had it in a long time but my mom and stepdad wanted it and it sounded good. I called back a second time to add to it because we wanted a few extra things. Talked to 2 different people, both of them were friendly and pleasant, (which hardly happens at similar places). Went in to pick up, it was clean and smelled like delicious roasted potatoes, the staff all looked like they weren’t dreading every minute of working there (which also rarely happens anywhere else). When she (Zoey I think? She was wonderful) gave me my change I told her to keep it for tip, she put it in what I assume was their joint tip jar. I love the way this place is ran/managed, it’s nice to see people who aren’t fake smiling and secretly miserable and wanting to burn it down, and I appreciate it! Nice to let employees split tips too, a lot of places where people make minimum wage don’t allow tipping and they should! I’ve worked in the service industry for most of my life and I can tell the owner(s) of this place (this location, at least) know what they’re doing. Ive been going to chicken shack for years but never this location. Ordered a rib snack meal and a 4 piece white meat only (at extra cost) meal. Picked the food up and brought it to my parents. The first thing i noticed was the extra cost for white meat only got me 3 pieces of white meat not 4, the rest was not white meat. I wasnt going to drive back for 1 piece. The broasted potatoes used to be delicious were now chunks of cut up not fully cooked potoatoes with butter on top. I dont know if it is just this location or all of them but these are NOT anywhere close to the delicious potatoes chicken shack used to have. Upon biting into the chicken it was tough and rubbery, not the delicious juicy chicken i am used to from chicken shack. The potatoes went into the garbage and the chicken should have too but my mom insisted on eating it. My dad did say his ribs were good but also said these are definitelyNOT the same chicken shack potatoes. Probably the worst meal from chicken shack that i have gotten and ive gone to different locations for years. I wont be back to this location but i will go back to the Chesterfield location hoping for the chicken shack...

When my husband and I arrived at the store there were two people waiting for their meals; and it looked like they had been there a while. It was hard to hear in the store since the music was playing so loudly. The signage didn't fully describe the choices available to us, and when I ordered the Fish sandwich meal I was asked which ONE side I wanted. I asked it only comes with one side, the counter girl said yes, so I ordered broasted potatoes and a pint of coleslaw so my husband and i could share the coleslaw. When I ordered I was erroneously looking at the lunch menu, which stated it included a drink, but the counter girl said that is only until 4:00 PM. Then when our meal was ready, the other woman working there told me that in the future, I don't need to order an extra cole slaw since our meals come with a side cole slaw. I said I specifically questioned about that, and she said 'oh' . There was no offer to remove the unnecessary pint cole slaw from my bill or my order. Just the word to the wise for my future visit --not thinking that is going to happen anytime soon; which is a shame because the food actually...
