The absolute one and only negative, beer is overpriced. That being said, their is a large variety. And i know this is a newer establishment. So i know to overcharge by 1 to 2 dollars on every beer is a way to recoupe monies from the starting out process, but i sure hope the prices are adjusted to a more fair price in time. Now to the many positives. Great atmosphere. Whether you are enjoying with your family, as i usually do, as a couple or with a group of friends, young or old, you will feel right at home. Very busy at most times, but not crowded cause of the spacious seating layout. Besides the main restaurant seating area, you have the beautiful bar area with additional restaurant seating that is a little more crowded, but totally acceptable. Felt a great vibe there hanging with a group of friends on a saturday night, especially with the live music that suddenly started to our liking. Next would be the great service. Starting with the hostess, then to the waiters/waitresses, they are all overly friendly while still being truely genuine. I have been here 5 times with my wife and my 3 year old daughter and twice with groups of friends, All in the last month. A little much, but thats what happens when you go out to dinner at least once a week and cut off other places. Wish i would have tried harpers table sooner. After the first visit, several servers were coming up to my daughter and recalling her by name, and being so friendly to her, making her feel so special. Her favorite is Cameron. Though she has only served us twice, she finds a way to make our daughters night every time. Again, alot of the rest of the staff has been very friendly and personal, just dont remember all their names. Next were the bartenders. Very attentive, great with explaining all the options, while still moving quickly enough to keep a very busy Saturday night crowd satisfied. Lastly, the food. While slightly limited, myself or any one else i was with has had nothing but good things to say about what they've eaten. Starting with a good choice of apps and salads, From all the uniquely made burgers, to a couple well made italian dishes, to some very tasty fish options, to a few differently made wraps, and some good ribs, their is more than enough to chose from while being able to make different choices with each visit. Oh, and also their is a awesome seperate specials menu, which im constantly ordering off of. I personally hope they move the Spanish garlic shrimp and the buffalo chicken quesadillas to the permanent menu, along with a couple things. Great way to expand the menu overall. Lastly, with today being our most recent visit after my daughters gymnastics class, we had the privalage of talking to a gentleman who was not are waiter, but still very much assistance to us. First he asked how a certain beer was i ordered, and as we talked about how expensive it was, $10!. But i did tell him it was different and very tasty. Then we continued to small talk as he saw my daughter in her gymnastics outfit. Turned out he had daughters that attend the same gymnastics location. Found out he lived very locally, after we informed him we were down the road in raritan township. Talked a little more, and then we received our dinner. Later he came by the table again to check in on us and saw my daughter wasnt eating. He offered to get her something else, but i suggested maybe 1 chicken tender. Within 5 minutes he comes back with 3 chicken tenders with fries. Not a big loss to him, buy overly thoughtful to do. Found out from our waiter later, it turned out we were dealing with adam the owner. So gotta say, a very personal and very classy guy. Look forward to speaking with him again as we plan to continue to pay weekly visits to this unique and up and coming establishment. Wish yous all the best at harpers table. Also sorry such a long review, but I've never felt the need to leave a review before in my life.So finally doing so,i felt the need to really go into detail as Adam has done with this great place called Harpers Table. Visit and u...
Read moreTo keep it short, the manager/owner, not sure what she is, did the rudest and most unprofessional thing ever. When it was time for the bill, we ask for splits, so the waitress freaked out because it was a large party, And I guess went and told the manager. The manager then came out and started yelling at us for not telling them in advance we were splitting. Then proceeded to lecture us about the 20% gratuity that comes with a large party. We were already planning to tip the waitress because she actually did her job. The manager who didn’t even give us the chance to do that, jumped the gun and thought it was a really good idea to come out of the woodwork and lecture us about tipping like we’re some freaking 10 yrs old. That was really unprofessional and embarrassing. Then got the nerves to ask us what company we work for, like what?! You cannot treat your customers that way, I will definitely not be going back there. The quality of the food is not worth that level of disrespect. Definitely need to work on her people/communication skills. I only gave the 1 star because the waitress actually did her job. Otherwise...
Read moreWow, first time here since it switched over and I was impressed! Food was awesome.! We got the special burger with brie, fig and bacon. We both agree it's one of the best burgers we ever had. You could taste the burger and char on it along with all the flavors. Delish! Also had appetizers which were awesome. Beer was great and a big selection. A few tvs to watch games and a rustic atmosphere. Good prices for beer and food. Good service. I'll be back soon!
Second time here three days later. Still awesome. Got to the wings with hot honey sauce...yum! The calamari is unique in that it has a char to it that's not fried - loved it!
