I gave it a 2 because this is the third time going to this restaurant, 1st time is when it first opened and we waited at the bar for 20 min to get a drink and when asked if we could get a drink the bartender daid there were other people waiting while she continued to have personal conversation and not bartend. Needless to say we left. Second time was Sweetest Day, service was a little slow but tolerable, food was great. Third time was on Dec 6, 2018 and it wad Sushi night. We arrived at 6:15 and sat at the bar to wait for a table, it took a bit to get a drink but the bartender was busy so we understood. We were told that tbere was enough Sushi for everyone that was present. We waited about an hour and asked if we could just eat at the bar, they said we would get our food faster. We put our order in right then, sushi and a filet. After a half hour passed and we noticed 2 new tables eating we asked what the hold up was and we were told the Sushi so we asked if we could atleast get the filet, they bought the filet out in a few minutes. My husband ate his filet and potatoes and still no Sushi. They took his plate and we watched other people at the end of the bar get there food, the manager came and tried to explain that the Sushi was time consuming and I told her I understood but the chef should have stopped to complete my order and then prepared the rest of the food. That is not an excuse. The bartender did give us a complimentary drink but the manager never offered anything for the 2 hourand 15 minute wait and still no Sushi. Needless to say we paid for tbe food and drinks we did get and cashed out and left. Bottom line we most likely will not be back, mostly because the manager/owner did not try to...
Read moreAfter a several year hiatus, my husband and I resumed dining here a few years ago. Neither of us can remember why we stopped coming here; it possibly just fell off of our radar. Many of our friends say the same thing, "The Brewery? We haven't been there in years!"
The bar section has several booths and is modern, lively and comfortable. The two other dining sections seem a little outdated and we avoid them if we can get a table in the bar.
The servers are all so friendly, confident and helpful. We have our favorites but, honestly, we haven't had a bad server yet.
We have tried several appetizers but do not have a favorite. The salad, however, is a different story: The grilled romaine salad with feta cheese, roasted corn and tomatoes is heaven. The tangy dressing and slightly charred taste on the romaine is such a great combination. I love it!
As far as entrees go, the short rib is fall-off-the-bone tender and seasoned perfectly. You cannot find a better short rib in this area. Period. I even mention The Brewery's short rib in my review for Top of the Pontch - it's that good. If we're feeling especially hungry, we'll order a side of mac & cheese (yes, that's in addition to the mashed potatoes that come with my short-rib!). OMG, it's so good! My husband has tried several different steaks and is always pleased.
As far as I'm concerned, the prices here are comparable to the quality and quantity of the meal. The lady reviewer who was shocked to pay $130 for two meals should dine in lower end...
Read moreThe wait staff was amazing, the restaurant was clean, and the staff polite. The food definitely does not live up to its prices, IMHO.
The food was mediocre, about the same quality as an Applebees. Their prices for what you got were at least double what they ought to be for the quality.
Their short rib tacos were so slathered in BBQ sauce that it was all that could be tasted, and it was a very bland sauce that reminded me more of a bottle of Open Pit than a house-made sauce. Which, for the prices charged, you would expect.
The $50 steak a relative had looked more like a $20 cut from Outback. The decor is nice, but at least five years outdated.
The restrooms were functional, though they look more like something from a Coney Island than a fine dining establishment. They were somewhat clean considering how busy they were.
Their wait staff is the star of the visit for me. Our waitress was on the ball, nobody's drink went empty, and she had a great attitude the whole time.
Sadly, the wait staff was the only fine dining experience to be had there, IMO. That said, there were plenty of folks there drinking so it could be a better bar than restaurant. Get them drunk and charge 'em $14 for (what should realistically be priced at) $8 worth of tacos. That's the only way it makes sense to me.
I definitely wouldn't recommend this place and I don't plan to return. It's a shame. It could be a truly...
