This is a shame.
Margaritas used to be quite enjoyable. In the last few years it has consistently disappointed me. There are many issues that now plague this restaurant but the staff and quality appear to have taken the biggest hit. I am aware that we experienced a pandemic, but you can only forgive so much. The quality of the food when I visit Margaritas always varies but is usually mediocre, which is saying something cause Clinton has endless Mexican restaurants. Many times when we eat here the food is dry, taste old, or is bland. Many times this is exacerbated by poor service from wait staff. It takes forever for anyone to acknowledge our presents once we are seated, you also do not get chips and salsa brought to you in a timely manor. This is particularly frustrating because we enjoy the cheese dip(which we have had to send back multiple time cause it was cold) and would like chips with it. Once we are finally acknowledged and orders taken I swear the waiters just disappear in a completely empty restaurant. I had to ask the bus boy to wrangle my waiter so we could finally leave after waiting 20 mins for our waiter to return. This is not the only staffing concern as none of the staff seems to care about presenting themselves professionally as they can be heard cursing and yelling profanities. I don't really care about cursing I do it all the time, but come on you're at work at least keep your voice down. Lastly, for a place called Margaritas you'd think they serve a passable one, well you'd be wrong their drinks are abysmal don't even waste your time it's just sour mix. One more thing to add, the girl/girls at the front desk/hostess area are actually really nice, polite, and patient they are what saved it from being 1 star. Go to Los Parrilleros friendly people...
Read moreOrdered a Happy Plate. I'm about a quarter way of eating my food when I notice a brown leaf. When questioned, the waiter picks the leaf up out of my plate and shows the manager. The manager picks it up and tells me that it's seasoning. I was told that it was a bay leaf, then a rice leaf. They cook with them and I received the lucky plate...wth! I expressed that I didn't want the food because it looked like a leaf from outside brown and spotted. So then the bartender comes over and says that they cook their rice with 5 Bay leaves. I asked that my intelligence not be insulted but that I didn't want the food because even IF it could be seasoning, they had touched all over it. My waiter tells me they will take care of it. I had no interest in eating anything else after that. When we ask for the ticket the manager tells the biggest lie I have ever heard. He tells me that they couldn't take it off. I had no problem for my food but it's the principle. I was told they could the bottle the leaf came out of, never produced it. Then I was told that the rice and leaves comes in a bag. Not pleased at all. Check your rice before you...
Read moreWe have dined here numerous times. Recently as a party of five, 18% was listed on the bill for a "tip charge". I gave the server my card and was returned a bill which included a space for a tip. The original itemized bill was not returned. I did not include a tip. I normally include a 20% tip when dining out. We enjoyed our meal, but the server made several mistakes which we overlooked. I paid the bill without any tip as I had already been assessed an 18% tip charge. I feel that this practice is misleading and may not return to the restaurant in the future. Very uncomfortable. If I was mistaken that the " tip charge" was not the actual tip, I apologize, but it is very confusing. If you have that charge on the itemized bill, you should question it. They should also return the itemized bill with the receipt that is returned by the server. The final bill should not include a space for a tip or it should be labeled as "Additional Tip". In fairness, I will visit one more time as the food and service are good. Check your detailed bill carefully so you don't...
