I went here with my son for dinner. When my son first walked in he immediately says, "Dad this looks like the movie Coco."
We were greeted by a giant statue of a man wearing a sombrero, it was oretty impressive for a first impression.
We were quickly seated by the owner Liz. She was incredibly friendly and was able to provide suggestions to me as they didnt have any dishes with Mole. I ended up ordering the pollo zapata, muy picante. I like food spicy so if you dont they did offer a less spicy version. Also had the choice of corn or flour tortillas, I took the corn.
My son had the kids quesadilla and rice. He loved the rice. Two thumbs up and a big grin of approval from him.
The food came out quick and hot. I enjoyed it so much I ate the entire plate of chicken and rice but I probably should have stopped halfway because it was a lot if food. Richard, the other owner came over and chatted with us. He shared some funny stories with my son and I.
I highly recommend the restaurant, a little gem in the little...
Read moreIf you’re looking for salad Plates filled with more salad. And nickel and dime you till you end up paying $60 bucks for a couple of tacos and a couple of sopes and two drinks. This is for you 🤨. from what I saw all the Traditional Mexican food. Are pretty much nonexistent. All you see in the Menu is simple plates with the but load of salad. I usually go To Fiesta Mexicana in BENSON . Fiesta Mexicana beat this restaurant two hands and one leg up compared to one pinky toe in other words they ain’t gonna see me going back over there to Viva Zapata no time soon probably no time this year I was not satisfied whatsoever I guess it is what it is when it comes down to flavor Nothing beats Fiesta Mexicana. And to the owner of Viva Zapata you might need Jon Taffer to rescue your restaurant flavor😂😂😒 The only thing you got going on Viva Zapata is that your restaurant is clean on the dining area but you wait too much to take an order or bring drinks 15...
Read moreI really wanted to like this restaurant. I had high hopes because overall their reviews were high although I can not understand at all how. Atmosphere is shabby. Food was not very good and rice was barely warm. My meal included tortillas but never brought. My meal also included a salad.I requested ranch dressing. The waitress brought an already open and used bottle of KRAFT brand ranch dressing. ABSOLUTELY unacceptable. I never in my life have seen such a thing nor would I ever expect a used bottle of KRAFT dressing be served. I was lost for words and decided not to ruin my friends meal or dining experience by confronting the management. They just also were shocked and not satisfied with their meals either. Our waitress was also unfriendly and acted like she could care less about serving us. We decided that we would definitely not be returning to this restaurant. Some serious attention is in order as to improving all aspects of...
