Scott's BBQ — Restaurant in Cochran

I just moved to the Mid South GA area from TN (world’s best BBQ, imo) and have had one heck of a time finding anywhere that anyone would dare recommend to me for good bbq besides Buc-ee’s. Finally a co-worker piped up about Scott’s. It took me a few weeks but we just stopped in for lunch and wow. This is the best bbq I’ve had since moving to Georgia. Hands down the best brisket I’ve had in years. My fiancé got the pulled pork sandwich, it was also excellent. Sweet sauce is perfect. Plenty of sides and desserts to choose from, and tea sweetened to perfection, no sugar overload here.

Scott’s bbq is a simple, small town bbq restaurant in all the best ways. Friendly service, more than fair prices (I tipped large as I felt they undercut themselves!) and large portions. Since relocating to this area two months ago, I have eaten here twice and enjoyed it! This is a very busy, family restaurant with excellent prices and tasty BBQ. On my first visit, I had a sliced pork sandwich with fries and slaw. It was very good. On my second visit, I had a rib plate and the pork nearly fell off the bone. My sides with the ribs were mac and cheese and cole slaw. The mac and cheese was served luke warm and tasted like Kraft boxed mac and cheese. The cole slaw was cold and delicious. As a 70 yr. old retiree I travel about 40 miles south to meet my old comrades from work at Scott’s to relive younger days. We meet monthly. This is a quaint gem of a BBQ restaurant! Everyone has a favorite meal and my go to is the hamburger steak plate. Served with onions & gravy, a mound of fries, cole slaw and bread. It is absolutely the best hamburger steak I have ever eaten and I consider myself an expert. It’s fresh ground beef and not the frozen patty that some places try to pass off. Try it.
