Shepherd Bar & Restaurant — Restaurant in Coe Township

The last time I was here it was the night of Halloween. My daughter & I stopped in for a quick bite while we were waiting for my other children to get done trick-or-treating. It was really busy, but I expected that. We were able to find a spot despite it being crowded and sat down to order. We waited 10 minutes to even be greeted by a server and another 5 for her to take our order. Then we waited 20 MORE minutes for her to even bring us our drinks (which she brought with our food) Ive worked in food service for years; in almost every position, so I totally get it being busy and being overwhelmed and forgetting things. However, communication with your guests is the key. If our server would have greeted us right away and told us she would be with us as soon as she could, I would have understood. To me, it looked like she was fairly new at serving because it was obvious that she didn't have any sort of routine. Plus, she wasn't overloaded with tables. The restaurant was busy but that was mostly in the bar part. We were on the dining side and our servers' section didn't seem full. (She had enough time to get on her phone and stand around and talk to the other servers) She also didn't even bother to apologize for taking so long with our drinks bc she clearly forgot about them. The food was also really disappointing! I've heard great things about the Shepherd Bar so when I ordered Boneless Chicken Wings for $10 and in actuality what the server brought were chicken nuggets!!! 5 SMALL chicken nuggets. McDonald's has bigger nuggets and they even taste better She even told me that they get a lot of complaints about them when I said something to her. (Which, if I were the server, I would have told my guests that when they ordered them instead of making them wait 20 minutes just for them to be extremely disappointed) The entire experience was extremely disappointing. Again, I've worked in restaurants for years so I know what it's like when it's busy and you're overwhelmed and frustrated and ppl are being rude...it's hard! But you've gotta communicate with your guests! Especially if she was a new server. Idk if that was the case but if she was she shouldn't have been scheduled on such a busy night. They did have a big bowl of candy on the bar....so my daughter and I satisfied ourselves with...

Moved here from out of state and and tried several places to eat around the area and decided we would give this one a try since they had a good google rating Took the wife here one afternoon about 4:30 and the place was full. Normally that's a good sign the restaurant is a good place to eat. We was seated and told someone would be there in a minute. Took forever it seemed. Finally got our drinks ordered and needed time to look at the menu, then ordered. During this time, some folks near us finished eating and left. The table was cleared and re seated with new people. They had service immediately, I noticed they got their meal way before us and was finishing theirs when we finally was getting served. Our food was Cold when we got it. I don't like to complain so I said Nothing and just paid the damn bill when I left. Truly I was Very Very disappointed. And still left a gratuity of 18% It took over 50 minutes to get our food on the table and it was like the server just plain forgot us or didn't care. I'm not trying to beat this place down, because I think it was a bad server more than anything. Just don't know if I would try it again. I guess I should have said something, But I don't like being (THAT PERSON) to complain in a restaurant.

Been here twice and both times sadly were very disappointing. First visit our waitress was rude...rude to the point if there had been other choices of somewhere to eat we would have left...food was average but nothing to exciting. Second visit SAME waitress sees someone she knows come in and says to them in front of the 3 groups of people who are waiting for a table..."come on you don't have to wait I'll put you in my section" never acknowledges those of us who are waiting patiently....except to tell an older lady LOUDLY "you need to get out of the way we have to be able to get through here". The lady was clearly embarrassed and party of 3 left!! I ordered a grill cheese...got a ham and cheese...no big deal I knew they were busy so I just picked off the ham and wasn't going to complain...wouldn't have even been an issue except when the waitress realized what happened she was clearly irritated and rude the rest of our visit. Sad to say I won't be...
