Well, I hate to say it but eating at Nosworthy's Hall Of Fame was such a disappointment. My wife and I went there to eat for the first time because we had heard good things about it. We each got their 1/2 pound burgers and fries. Here are our thoughts:
Burgers were dry, not juicy at all and pretty much flavorless. Imagine buying ground beef at the grocery store and cooking it without any seasoning. Yup, that's how the burgers were. The bacon didn't even help that much and that has to say something... We both got fries, mine was a glob of undercooked potatoes, my wife's were very overcooked. We like crispy fries but hers were burnt and tasted like charcoal. They do give larger portions of fries so we both ate mine. Cool atmosphere with a rustic look and feel. They don't accept credit cards, had to go back to the car and find some cash. I didn't want to use their ATM and pay the fees. The burgers were very overpriced. It would have needed to be an amazing burger for the price for me not to feel ripped off. Instead it was a dry, flavorless chunk of meat on a bun (with bacon). Most everyone in there was inebriated. People were very loud and having a good time. We did get a kick out of watching the intoxicated folks talking and interacting. We didn't have any of the alcohol, maybe that is why our meals didn't taste good. You need to be inebriated to enjoy the meals. Service was ok, nothing special but not horrible either. The mixed drinks are served in very large glasses. A glass isn't the right description, it's more of a goblet, has to be at least 24 oz, maybe more.
All in all, cool atmosphere but poor food quality and pricey. Save your money and get better food at any of the fast food burger joints. Or go to Hudsons or Burger Express in downtown CDA and get a much better burger for one-third the cost. Sorry, just...
Read moreHere's a nice long time establishment that I feel gets overlooked due to its slightly obscure location. If you are looking for a place that serves a really great burger in a down-to-earth friendly relaxing environment with a homey feel and dim comfort lighting, you've found it! (Outside patio seating available too.)
I've been here a couple other times years ago and I don't honestly know why I don't make this a regular stop when I come to town. Their prices are very fair, the portions huge (they don't charge more for split plate), and the food is great.
They offer homemade potato salad in lieu of fries if you are avoiding fried...although with hand cut skin-on fries I don't know why you would. Their burgers are half pound (unless you ask for quarter) and cooked to juicy perfection. Do NOT skip the bacon as it's super flavorful and crispy! The tomatoes are sliced thin enough to not be a slidy messy bother, huge side salads, and don't forget the scooner of beer to wash it all down. (Yes, it makes the big burger look like it's dwarfed, don't be fooled!) I will need to return for prime rib night which is refreshingly on a Saturday night instead of the typical Friday that many other places offer.
Please remember to tip your wait staff well folks! Idaho is a "right-to-work" state which means most don't even earn $5 an hour. 🤨😧😡 Tip them cash! Speaking of which, they are only accepting cash as method of payment right now anyhow so plan ahead. This place is definitely one to not be missed and I will definitely...
Read moreFirst time, customers on a suggestion, as we entered we stood off to the side of the wall with a few other ladies trying to stay out of the way of other guests, which was impossible due to lack of any waiting to be seated space. We were not greeted by any staff. We uncomfortably stood in front of someone’s eses table as we waited. Finally getting a table in front of the door with no protection from the freezing air that comes in each time the door opens. The waitress took our drink order, the menu read well and appeared to be to be decent. I Ordered the fake crab omelette and mimosa. The omelette was overly packed full of imitation crab to the point that it took over all other flavors. I had to remove at least a cup of the meat. The hash browns were your common grocery store variety. Toast although nice and thick was lacking butter thus was lacking good buttery flavor. Needless to say I was less than satisfied or impressed. The food quality was subpar and that theme continued to the environment and staff. Unfortunately I live 3 hours away and was hoping for a good meal that I could not get in my mundane plain Jane home town, all I found was that I can cook better then they can. They need to reevaluate their space and seating to accommodate a waiting space and with some adjustments could make the space more...
