Schmidty's Burgers, located just outside Coeur d'Alene's downtown core at 1524 E Sherman Ave, is a true gem that deserves every one of its five stars. My recent visit to Schmidty's left me thoroughly impressed and craving for more. If you're a burger enthusiast like me, this is the place to be.
I had the pleasure of indulging in the Schmidty Burger, and it was nothing short of a culinary masterpiece. The moment I took my first bite, I was blown away by the explosion of flavors. The spicy burger was perfectly balanced, featuring pepper jack cheese, grilled jalapeños, onions, lettuce, tomatoes, and a delectable spicy mayo. Each ingredient complemented the others, creating a symphony of taste that danced on my palate. The spice level was just right – enough to give it a kick but not too overwhelming. This burger was the embodiment of spicy burger perfection.
The fries that came alongside the burger were equally impressive. Crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and seasoned to perfection, they were the ideal burger companion. What truly took them to the next level, though, was the house fry sauce. It was a revelation! Creamy, tangy, and with just the right amount of zing, it elevated the fries to a whole new level of deliciousness.
Aside from the food, the service at Schmidty's was impeccable. The staff was friendly, attentive, and passionate about their food. They made sure every aspect of our dining experience was top-notch, from the moment we walked in to the moment we left.
Schmidty's Burgers has undoubtedly earned its place among the best burger joints in Coeur d'Alene. If you're a burger lover looking for a taste sensation that will leave you craving more, don't hesitate to pay them a visit. The Schmidty Burger is a must-try, and I guarantee you won't be disappointed. With its convenient location and exceptional food, Schmidty's has secured a spot on my list of all-time favorite burger spots.

Read moreAlright, buckle up buttercups, because you're about to hear from a real authority on the matter. As a Schmidty by birthright (yes, it's a tough life, constantly upholding the family name in burger excellence), I approached Schmidty's Burgers with a healthy dose of optimism and an even healthier appetite. Let me tell you, the "Schmidty Burger" isn't just a namesake; it's a culinary coronation. This isn't your average patty palace – this is burger royalty.
The fries? Forget about them being a sidekick. These crispy, golden batons deserve their own standing ovation. A solid 10 out of 10 – they're the kind of fries that make you question all your past fry-related decisions.
But hold. The. Phone. While the burger and fries were a triumphant duet, the Pineapple Upside-down dessert… well, that was a full-blown operatic masterpiece. Life-changing isn't hyperbole; it's a documented fact in my newly revised personal history. Seriously, if the rest of their dessert menu even whispers the same level of deliciousness, skipping it should be classified as a misdemeanor, possibly a felony in states with good taste.
Turns out, my previous Coeur d'Alene visits tragically landed on Mondays, a day the Schmidty's reserves for… well, not blessing us with their presence (Cause they are closed on Mondays). Consider this my official vow: I will sooner attempt to swim the length of Lake Coeur d'Alene in January than darken the door of this fine city on another Schmidt-less Monday.
So, in conclusion, fellow food enthusiasts and Burger fanatics, if you find yourself in Coeur d'Alene, make a pilgrimage to Schmidty's. Order the Schmidty Burger or the Mrs. Schmidty (obviously), worship at the altar of their fries, and for the love of all that is delicious, DO NOT – I repeat – DO NOT skip dessert. Your taste buds will send you a thank you note written in pure joy....
Read moreCame here while on vacation for a medical conference last week. The food was good. The service was not what I had hoped it would be. They close at 7pm and my husband and I walked in at 6:15pm. We recognized that they would be closing soon and that we would need to be quick. Got our food in about 10-15 minutes and hurried to eat and be gone by closing time. However, our waitress/only staff member available started clearing our table and giving us to-go boxes within 5 minutes of serving our food. We were so rushed that my husband had cleaned our table completely. Taken the to go boxes and got them ready to go before I could finish my hamburger. We left the place at 6:53pm and felt so rushed and basically kicked out. I understand not making workers stay late, but there were 2 customers waiting on food for to go orders when we walked out. I even stated to my husband out loud after receiving to go boxes just minutes after being served food that I was scarfing down my burger because the only worker was trying to close. I just felt it very rude to be treated this way our entire meal when we were done and gone almost 10 minutes before actually closing and put order in 45 minutes before closing time. This is a burger joint that we could pop in for a quick burger. While the burger was good I feel like other burger places are just as good with...
