My husband and 2 girls dined here tonight. We had tried one other time and weren't too impressed but we were gifted a gift card so we said why not. The atmosphere is very nice and is decorated very uniquely and trendy. Our server was great and very attentive! My 2 girls shared the kids mac and cheese, which came in a hot skillet about the size of a dessert plate. But it came with nothing else. Usually kids meals come with a side and drink included. The price was pretty high of $9 just for Mac and cheese and nothing else. My husband ordered the walleye over rice and he said the walleye had no flavor and he has had better rice. I ordered the chicken Alfredo and was very disappointed to see that my adult meal was exactly same size as my child's. Except it had about 5 pieces of chicken in it and breadcrumbs on top. I asked if they had broccoli that could be added and they did not. They did say they could add a side of asparagus which I had which later found it was an upcharge of 5 or $6. Mine also came with a bread stick that was pretty hard. But the most shocking thing was the price of my meal, Being that it was the same portion size as a kids meal except with an added bread stick and five little pieces of chicken my meal was $22. We did end up trying the chocolate cake and I was not impressed. We all had water as well. Overall we were not impressed with the food for the whole price of our meal totaling $95. I have eaten better food with bigger portions in just as fancy of restaurants in Minneapolis that I will choose to spend my money on a night out to eat. As a local who has grown up here and understand the scarcity of decent restaurants in this town but cannot recommend this restaurant. For seafood maybe the price is fair, but noodles, cheese, 5 dime size chicken pieces and a bread stick for $22???? Outrageous. I also am not a huge Seafood person and I do understand that this restaurant is largely Seafood so I cannot attest to any of the seafood choices and...
Read moreNOT impressed! They were out of oysters, out of Brussel sprouts and out of mashed potatoes! I would think the grocery store down the street would have sold the restaurant a few pounds of potatoes to mash. Lobster roll was cold but was served with warm, drawn butter. Who puts cold food into warm butter? They also forgot the fries with the lobster roll and we had to flag down our server to tell her to bring the fries. She should have noticed that before bringing the food out! I ordered the "parmesan crusted walleye" which was to be served with a vegetable and mashed potatoes. Being as they were out of mashed potatoes, I was told the vegetable included "chunks" of potato. Chunks? That sounds appetizing! She should have used better terminology such as "small pieces of potato", not chunks! When my food arrived, there was no sign of any "parmesan crust" at all! It was broiled walleye and a quite small portion at that. The supposed vegetable medley did not, in fact, have any potato whatsoever and the portion was equal to about a 1/4 measuring cup; in other words VERY small! The food was lukewarm at best and after a bit of conversation between bites, my food was downright cold. For $28.00??? NOT a good deal in any way, shape, or form! The server came back to our table at the end of our meal to ask if we wanted dessert. None of us did (there was a group of four) so she disappeared before we had a chance to ask about coffee or after dinner drinks. When she came back once more a few moments later, she had our bill. One person wanted coffee and another a shot of Irish cream. The server rolled her eyes, took the checks back and got the additional items ordered. She delivered them with the updated bill at the same time. What if we had wanted one more? The service was mediocre at best, the food was expensive, served cold, the portions outrageously small and not at all as they were listed on the menu. I will...
Read moreReview revised: This time, instead of an appetizer, I had a meal, and what a great meal it was. I thoroughly enjoyed my grilled shrimp and parmesan grits. Every bite was a mouthful of flavor. My companions had fish & chips and a smashed burger. You should have heard the crunch of the lightly coated walleye! All of us said we would have the same meal the next time. I did add an order of cole slaw, which is tasty and refreshing. We topped off our meal with a warm, delightful dessert, which we shared. Every mouthful of dessert was making us want another bite. One companion brought home the 3-layer chocolate cake, which they said was delicious and snother to be reordered. Just an FYI, the warm dessert was like a lava cake but with warm toffee pudding. The cake absorbed most of the pudding, which was heaven-like. Add the whipped cream and ice cream, and I can see why they say, "When you have this once, you will order it next time too!"
Review from March 2024 Great place for lobster. I had high expectations, but the food was only good. The duck wonton cheese was runny. I had an appetizer special consisting of a crab cake and two shrimp. It was just okay. There was only one small crab piece, with the rest being very fine pieces. Usually, when I have crab cakes at a restaurant, they have several small pieces of crab. One shrimp was perfectly cooked, and the other was over-cooked. The fish and chips (walleye) were very good.
The best food we were served was the coleslaw. 5 out of 5 stars on the coleslaw. And yes, I would go back for the coleslaw.
The price range was affordable to expensive. There were enough affordable selections.
We will go back and try something else...
