Well after calming down from our recent experience.... I have felt compelled to review. Walked in with 4 adults and 4 children. We barely had a chance to walk in the door when the owner asked how many, rude like. Before we could even count, he decides screaming " how many " was an adequate welcome. He then yelled for us to go in the back of the restaurant ( due to his dislike of children I am assuming ). He yelled very loudly again " to the back ". The waitress was cleaning a table for us in front until this happened. We walked to the back and then realized why in the world would we obey this extremely rude, frantic man. We were happy to sit outside so the kids could be kids, but that was not offered as an option. The waitress that is our friend came out and apologized as we look forward to come see her every time we are in town. One of the kids did have a their shoes on the booth and he yelled to " stay off my furniture " ( I do understand keeping furniture clean but the anger that was behind it was unbelievable ). I am appalled as I have never been spoken to like there especially by an owner of a local business.Appalled, disgusted, and quite frankly sick at my stomach at the experience. To sum it up, we were gonna spend probably 200 or more there and would have continued to come in and support as we spent 60 yesterday. And do not take children as it is not family friendly especially when the owner is having a bad day ! Oh and we left out the back door without...

I am unable to post another review, so this is an edit.

Today I woke up very sick & felt homemade soup would be amazing to have. I noticed Scotty's Bistro had chicken & dumplings on their menu as a special yesterday, so I called to see if they would have it again today. Victor answered no, it wasn't on the menu, but noticing I was sick he said he would make me some chicken soup & that he would deliver it to me, I told him that was sweet, but I live in the country d my mom would come get it. This man stopped what he was doing & made me chicken noodle soup. Not only that but he sent a second bowl free of charge & again offered to bring it to me when I called to say it was done. These men truly care about Coleman & the people in Coleman. I am floored that he did this for me, but not surprised. Please go out & support this wonderful, locally owned restaurant. Thank you Victor & Carl for your kindness!!

If you haven't tried Scotty's Bistro in Coleman, TX, you need to plan a trip. The food is all fresh, from scratch & made to order. Today was chicken & waffles, 3 people could have eaten off of this plate. The chicken was large & crispy, the waffle was delicious, very large portions!! Other items that are my favorites are of course their homemade cheese sticks, lasagna, tri-tip sandwich & their burgers. The staff is friendly & very attentive,you'll...

We stopped here on a whim while traveling from New Mexico to Central Texas and were blown away by the quality of food and service. The restaurant itself has an eclectic, friendly vibe, great music, incredible food/wine/drinks, and the friendliest owners and staff. They haven't even been open a full year, and they have already been voted #2 by locals in the area, outpacing other establishments that have been here for decades. We don't have anything against run-of-the-mill steakhouses, burger joints, and Tex-Mex, but if you're looking for something with extra flair (i.e. daily specials, homemade cooked-to-order food, fun cocktails, and a great wine list), then you DEFINITELY need to come here. The fried green tomatoes were a fantastic appetizer, and the hatch pepper burger and angel hair pasta with shrimp were both to die for. Hubby and I split a slice of the chocolate cheesecake for dessert, which was light and fluffy (not dense and heavy) and melt-in-your-mouth delicious without being too sweet. We 100% recommend this wonderful bistro and will most definitely be back when we pass...

It's not often that I get to use the word panache to describe something, but that's what Scotty's Bistro has...Scotty's Bistro has panache. Tucked away in Coleman, TX, this place should be a landmark. I stopped in for lunch while traveling for work. Nothing about this restaurant is ordinary. The decor and cleanliness stand out when you enter. The menu looks amazing. All I got to sample was the club sandwich and fries at the recommendation of the owner, Victor. The ingredients used are not the average establishment fare. The toasted bread (maybe a sourdough) was the perfect texture and taste. The vegetables were fresh and selected for premium quality (or so it seemed). The fries, though not fresh cut are prepared beyond merely frying and salting. They seasoned and cooked well to provide a crisp texture and no oily excess. I'll be returning to Coleman just to see what the rest of Scotty's menu has to offer.

Was so excited to try this place. The margaritas was watered down and flavorless. The BBQ chicken flatbread came out cold, very little cheese, unseasoned chicken and so much BBQ sause that's all you could taste. The burger was literally 20% of the bun size. The fries were raw. The service was so slow it took 20 minutes to get drinks. Terrible service in general. The owner talked to us about are experience, apologized but seemed patronizing as he did. Then we waited for 10 minutes before having to ask to get our check. With a price tag of $45.00 I expect WAY better. Sonic has better food at a much better price.
