Read moreWow, that's one word to describe Grace of India, North Indian restaurant located at 6900 Cheviot Road, OH 45247. It's close to Colerain Avenue and Groesbeck. Grace is open six days a week, except Mondays being a holiday.
I tried recently, the weekend lunch buffet which was $8.99. Sunitha, the hostess had me seated promptly and the table was very well organized and clean. Started with appetizers ranging from Samosas, which are actually vegetarian deep fried crispy pastries with potatoes and peas stuffing and very mild in spices. If you wanted to try something a bit more healthy, you could go for the Punjabi lentil soup. It was impeccable! There is coconut cream soup which was a bit sweet and something I didn't try. Don't miss the yummy and soft Chicken pakoras, which I preferred over vegetable pakoras. Ms. Sunitha made sure to bring hot and fresh battooras to our table which I tried with Chicken Tikka Masala, apart from trying the distinct Vegetable Jalfrezi. Ms. Sunitha was very friendly, cheerful, patient and open to new ideas. The Tandoori Chicken was a delicacy!
The main course was Garlic Naans with Chicken Tikka Masala. Regular Naans were also available. There was Masala tea already mixed with milk and sugar. As Desserts, grapes and fresh cut apples were an option for eating healthy. Gulab Jamun was great, besides the Gajar(Carrot) Halwa and regular Halwa were also ideal sweets options. Raitha, grated cucumbers in fresh yogurt and mint leaves after a heavy meal helps neutralize the intake besides is also very good for digestion.
Spoke to Mrs. Mandeep Kaur, one of the owners' who was very friendly and checked on us. Grace of India was a great experience with prompt service, great quality and hygiene all around. I would definitely give Grace a high five rating and recommend it to my friends and family. Thank you and keep up...
Read moreThis was our first time visiting and will definitely be back. The food was amazing, the place was clean (we remember it as far back as The Old Chili Company... its come a long way - though we miss $0.59 cheese coneys and cottage fries with freshly grated cheese), and the staff very friendly. I just spent 2 weeks in India a few months before and this was some of the best Indian food I've had in the states. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful, and possibly the owner, gave us some good recommendations we went with.
My sister got the Chicken Korma, level 5, which was about perfect hot for me - it makes your nose run a little, but not too hot, but it wasn't hot enough for my sister. She said she would probably go level 6 next time. When we told the one staff member, she brought out some spices and chutneys (?) for her to make it hotter.
I was going to get the same thing as I wanted to try something new, but since my sister got that, I got the Kadhai Garlic Chicken, level 3, which was also recommended so we could try them both. It was flavorful and pleasant. It had some spice, but not very hot. The cilantro was a nice touch to the well prepared dish.
The Garlic Nan was amazing! It and the bhatura were hot, fresh, and flavorful. They were larger than I expected, but gave us plenty to eat with our meal and have a little for the leftovers the next day.
I highly recommend this place for God Indian food. It is a welcome addition to the west side and my old neighborhood. We would like to go back to try the buffet as well as I'd like to compare the Biryani to what I had in Hyderabad. I doubt I will be disappointed. They also had a decent wine and beer selection, including some Indian beer. I got the hot tea and it was good and...
