First visit last night - definitely won't be our last! We are hooked! Happy to find a great Italian place in Pueblo West. The service was good with just the right amount of attentiveness. And the food... everything was delicious and beautifully presented! They start you off with a generous basket of bread that comes with butter (nicely softened and spreadable, not rock hard!), marinara sauce for dipping, and my favorite, seasoned olive oil. Our party of four tried the spinach/parm ravioli, the cheddar/green chile ravioli, manicotti, and gnocchi. As we ate and shared bites of each other's entrees, we talked about what we each want to try next time. We usually pass on dessert, but couldn't resist taking home a couple slices of cake (gluten-free chocolate and limoncello) to enjoy later. Loved the fudge-like consistency of the chocolate cake and the bright, citrus flavor of the limoncello cake.
I always like to check out other reviews, especially the one and two stars, because it's easy to spot which are due to genuinely poor food and service and which are from a few disgruntled customers. You can't please everyone. Bella Pasta & Chicken just gained four very...
Read moreBeen there numerous times, or had take out, since opening. More recently, seems like quality isn't the same. Physical restaurant and service still generally good...no complaints. But, when lasagna is billed out as "meat lasagna" then one would expect to see "meat" as a primary ingredient. I believe there was some "meat" in there so I guess it's billed out correctly but I must say barely. Personally, I don't think a bit of finely ground meat mixed in the sauce really cuts it. There were certainly plenty of tomatoe chunks...but meat? Barely! Here's the thing...I wish no ill will on Bella Pasta; but I've lived in Pueblo for 27 years. I'm really growing (maybe past tense is more accurate) tired of the mediocre food in Pueblo/Pueblo West. This is an area of some 150,000 residents. This is NOT a small town. I believe we deserve the same value for our money as we get in the Springs and Denver! It's just frustrating to spend good money in this town at restaurants that just put out consistently mediocre food at best, in a manner that seems like "well, you know this IS only Pueblo." Frankly, I think we...
Read moreMy husband and I move to CO, PW in 2018, and we tried to dine here 1 time, but we were turned down, so that really left a bad feeling with us. Now, years later and after a few folks recommended them to us we decided to give it another try. However first, I decided to go online and read some of the comments and to my surprise there were some “1” star reviews, so I started to read them. The negative comments themselves didn’t really bother me, but the reply from the owner did. So, with that in mind I told my husband let’s just go to another recommend restaurant, but we both decided to try this place again, and boy… This place… this place! OMG! I wishes I could give them an Italian hug (tight and long). The food… Yum! The service… on point! The restaurant itself is so cute and the food authentic. Yum! So, I give this lil gem of ours (PW pride) all the stars and let the owner know that it was their replies to negative comments that almost kept us away. Haters will always hate....
