Let me start by saying the wait staff was very friendly and the place "looks" great. I ordered Corned beef hash which came with hashbrowns, 2 eggs over easy and 2 small pancakes. I also ordered coffee. When the waitress brought out the food it looked delicious. There was a beautiful crust on top of the Hash as well as the hash browns. When I got to the center both the corned beef hash and the hash browns were cold. The corned beef looked like it had mucus in the middle of it where the fat in the meat had warmed up just enough to make it runny. The hash brown potatoes were completely raw and the pancakes were cold as well, so much so that the butter sitting on top of them didn't even melt. The eggs were cold but I ate one of them. I pushed the food to the side and was enjoying my coffee when the waitress asked me if my "food was cold". How could she have known this and if she did, why did she serve it to me. She then asked if she could "re-heat it" which to me was appalling to think that 1. they would put food on their grill that I had already eaten from as well as touched with my fingers to test the temperature or 2. stick it in a microwave. I said no thanks. She didn't offer to make another meal or offer something else. She instead brought me two small cookies (which I didn't order) and told me the coffee was free. I didn't want cookies and the coffee was the only thing I consumed besides one egg. She gave me the bill for the entire meal with the exception of the coffee. I own a business. This was not good business. They had a chance to make my meal right or make my bill right. They chose to fatten their pockets instead of treating the customer correctly. I also noticed the customer next to me returning his food for being cold in the middle. Imagine his food that he had already eaten from going back on the grill with your food. I paid my bill. I didn't leave a tip even though she was very friendly. The bill was $9.00. I usually tip $5 -$10 but it was her job to make my meal right. This company knows who I am. You charged me $9 today, take that off, charge me $2.00 for coffee and I will take down...
Read moreI attempted to go here for the first time ever! The Google page led me to believe this place was the perfect breakfast spot to go to as a family.
I was sadly mistaken and will NEVER step foot into this place ever again!
I am a woman of color and never thought that I would feel walking into this place would catapult me back into slavery.
I walked in with my son and his father, and I held my son closer than I ever have as I scanned the inside of this location.
We stood there trying to gauge,do we seat ourselves? Will someone seat us? We saw that there were customers inside, but no one looked our way in a friendly or inviting manner, making me even more uncomfortable.
I saw a group of elderly ladies who looked like they were wrapping up a special event and two gentlemen who looked like they were stuck in the 50's and didn't know why we even came inside.
My son's father was bothered by my facial expressions of discomfort. After seeing a few employees coming from what appeared to be the kitchen, walking out, looking at us, and carrying on with their task, he approached to ask how we get service.
She stated they ran out of food, and she thought she had locked the doors. She didn't stop and acknowledge him by pausing and looking at him.
After over hearing her say that, I immediately turned around and ran for the door! Upon exiting, I felt like I had come out of a time machine I NEVER wanted to visit again.
If you are a person of color stay away from this location, it's not set up to make you feel like we have come as far as we have from slavery to today and this was extremely disturbing for me being an activist for others who look the way that I do.
Please do better, Maggie's restaurant. This was an experience I will never forget EVER, and I don't mean...
