Phở Vy — Restaurant in Colorado

I ate here with some friends on 12/18. The food was good but the service was horrible as I attempted multiple times to get our waiter's attention for clean utensils, water and the check. I left no gratuity as I felt none was earned however I noticed a charge for $8 more than I originally authorized ($56.09 instead of the original 48.09 for 2 regular pho, 1 small pho, and grilled mussels). I returned on the 12/24 to rectify the charge. I asked for a manager and explained to the short older man, who said he was the manager, the situation. He seemed confused so the host took over and returned the disputed $8. I then stated to the manager that he should make sure it doesnt happen again as customers dont appreciate being stolen from. He then got very aggressive and shouted that they didnt steal as he just returned the money. I then explained that it shouldnt have happened in the first place and I had to return and bring up the issue in order to even be reimbursed and ended up just walking out as the supposed manager became more irate claiming again that they didn't steal. Overall just bad vibes from the manager. Definitely not the reaction i expected from a business if they made an honest mistake. Was not at all apologetic but more confrontational. Definitely would not return just based on this interaction...

Okay, okay. So if there is one thing that I enjoy a lot, it's a really tasty salmon steak done well. I'll never rate a restaurant generally across the board. I rate a restaurant if I come to find out that an entree is exceptional by itself. While Pho Vy offers a wide variety of Vietnamese entrees, one of the best entrees that they offer for a great price is the salmon dinner. They normally deep fry their salmon. I DO NOT RECOMMEND HAVING THEM DEEP FRY YOUR SALMON. When I visit their restaurant, I always request that they ONLY GRILL THE SALMON I’m ordering. The type of salmon they offer is superior to any other place I've ordered salmon. While it’s probably not wild caught or Norwegian, it is flaky and fatty. Yes. I've tried grilled salmon from other places like Texas Roadhouse and at 4-star restaurants. I’ve even tried salmon from 5-star places like Eddie V’s Seafood Restaurant. But I’m never overcome with joy at these places. But grilled salmon at Pho Vy? For the price and enjoyment to my tastebuds? No other place meets or beats the flavor, the juiciness, and the texture of salmon like that which is served at Pho Vy. Make sure to request that your grilled salmon be partnered with steamed white rice, and a fresh cut salad. You won't be...

We had a dinner at this place on 1/6 and were very surprised to see 18% mandatory service charge when we received our bill that we never saw before. Asked about this, and the waiter named Tom explained to me that all the tables with a party of 5 or people are charged with 18% surcharge. It was a total surprise to us since it was never mentioned to us before. When I told him about this, he told us that since we didn’t leave enough tip amounts (apparently like 12%) as regular customers in the past, they felt the need to charge us mandatory 18% service fee.

First, when there are mandatory service charges for large gatherings, it is specifically mentioned in the menu so the customers are aware of these additional changes ahead of time.

I also confronted him to tell him that gratuity is something that should be determined by the customers based on their experiences on food and customer service and that can’t be dictated by the servers. He then tried to tell me he will remove the service charge this time, but we should leave bigger tips next time around. A total nonsense!

Our evening was totally ruined because of this nonsense. We will never return to this...
