Charming little place with a nice vibe, but I’ve stopped coming here. If management reads this, there are two major problems that need addressed.
(1) The staff. Recently - perhaps as school is out - the staff has grown to include a lot of new faces. There are some major consistency issues now and most of these young girls don’t seem to understand food service/retail. Please don’t wipe your nose and then touch my food. Please don’t hand me my cup by the rim. Please don’t hold my credit card while you watch me select the tip, and then return it, as if you’re satisfied with the tip you’ve been given. There are a few new girls with some major attitude issues as well, and I’ve walked out twice due to their inattention.
(2) Coffee scene is atrocious. I’ve never had a good beverage here, yet I’m often suffered to endure really poor attempts at cappuccinos because of meetings here.
All in all, I have decided to stop coming here and I’ve scheduled meetings across the street. The staff is too inconsistent, Inexperienced, and at times off putting. I’ll probably return once the staff shrinks back to the full time crew, who all do a...
Read moreWe spend a lot of time in the area and came to check out this establishment on the recommendation of a dear friend. The store was quaint and had an interesting history. We were excited to check out the gluten free bakery, deli, local meats and unique drinks, products and gifts. However, the cycling crowd was disrespectful, if they felt you were not part of “their” crowd. If you were without a cycling Jersey, you were dismissed. I was practically trampled on multiple occasions while walking with a cane (as I’m nursing an injury) throughout the store. Others in my family had the same experience. One gal running the registers was polite and kind. When we asked questions about products and about placing an order, we were met with a rude, disrespectful and gossipy demeanor that lacked any form of customer service. Sadly, we won’t go out of our way to try Mountain Fountain again. As a local, there are plenty of other great places (stores and cafes/deli’s) that have much better customer service and a welcoming atmosphere!! Unfortunately a huge...

Have you ever walked into a place and felt like you’d just arrived home?
That’s exactly how I felt stepping into Mountain Fountain in Hygiene, Colorado.
The staff here goes above and beyond to make you feel seen and valued—like you’re an old friend they’re excited to catch up with.
But it’s not just the smiling faces that make this spot special. Their shelves are filled with fantastic local goods that reflect the heart and soul of the community.
Each item tells a story of craft, care, and an unwavering passion for supporting neighbors.
One of the biggest gifts this place brings to the town is not just the goods they sell or the service they give. It’s the community they create. It’s where folks meet up, share a laugh, and walk out with a renewed sense of belonging.
If you’re looking for more than just a store, this is where community, connection, and quality all come together under one...
