Horrible experience on 12/18. We wanted some bakery goods and our regular bakery had sold out and was closed. We made it to this shop and to our suprise they were full of everything. After looking around, their prices seemed extremely high compared to many other places. The two workers seemed short and out out at my questions. I will say that I arrived 10 minutes prior to closing. Not of their product was wrapped up for the night. After looking around, I considered how fresh the items likely were and decided against it, one thing I know from my regular place is that if you don't sell out, you don't save till the next day- I may have considered purchasing something f but at $1 a cookie and them preparing to resell tomorrow I didn't want to pay fresh prices for old cookies. Had they been kind or even nice rather than out upon, I probably would have tried a couple, but their attitude really soured the whole experience.

I discovered this place by chance. Was looking for a dessert but didn’t want the sweet cakes and cookies and other whipped cream stuff full of sugar that I see everywhere. And I just loved it. They have a variety of desserts baked at home. Flavors are just amazing. It’s a tiny place with TONS of variety. They are just amazing. One thing I would love more is to have some more explanation on a few things. Sometimes I’ll go but will get the same desserts just because I’m not sure what the other ones are made of and I’m afraid of trying something just because I don’t want to buy something I won’t likely like. But people are friendly and this is definitely my place to go. Will drive the 40 minutes from home just to get my loved desserts.

Family owned Middle Eastern sweets shop. The lady, Um Ahmad, shown in the photo is a co-owner. All tarditional desserts are made on site. She was very friendly and talked to us about how they started. We were given two cups of traditional Arabic coffee, on the house, was really good. Reminded us of how "mom used to make it". We ordered a tray of fine Kunafa, we were given extra syrup without even us asking for it. I was surprised because I read couple of reviews saying that people were denied extra syrup. Kunffah was delcious and on the sweeter side, to me at least, so we didn't use the extra syrup. Next time we come back to Columbus, Al-Aqsa is on our to visit list. We're glad our friends recommend it.

Al Aqsa Sweets is a cute little store! There's not much space, but it is full of lots of beautiful looking treats and smells wonderful! We were exploring when a beautiful pregnant woman came in. She was happy and glowing, and I could tell she was close to her due date! She ordered a Kunafa and had it warmed. We are new to the culture and foods. As the owner warmed her treat, the woman gave us recommendations and even had us try her Kunafa. I had no idea what i was tasting, but it was wonderful! It is not at all what i had expected. It had a decent layer of warm gooey cheese covered by a sweet nutty butter layer! I am thankful for her that day for that amazing little bite! Unfortunately, she had ordered the last one. She had offered us hers, but her son was supposed to be coming the next day, so we would rather her celebrate! Plus, there were many more flavors to try! I had seen a post online about Al-Aqsa Sweets. The video showed their Strawberry Dubai Chocolate shake. Im not sure about the name of it, but it is orgasmic! It is food porn for sure! They fill the cup with fresh strawberries, then there is a smooth top quality Belgian chocolate cream and pistachio cream filling, layered with the crunchy kataifi dough and their special in house made pistachio butter mixture. Then it is topped off with a luxurious chocolate covered strawberry and a bit of Belgian chocolate cream around it! My mom is not someone who likes sweets. I took a few photos to send to friends. I sent the few word messages out and turned around, and my mom had eaten half of the cup. I kinda looked on in amazement as she inhaled my dessert. I just went back in and got another! The chocolate covered strawberry on top was a nice touch! The strawberry cream is like a sweet pillow for your tongue as you bite through the thin layer of chocolate. The berry juices burst from the chocolate with a sweet tart squirt that mixes with the sweet cream of chocolate! The krispy Crunchy kataifi pistachio peanut butter heaven is surrounded in luxurious pistachio cream swirled with the Belgian chocolate cream. All of this mixing into your strawberries! Is a two hour drive too far? NOO TAhis place is amazing and you should check it out! They have huge Dubai Chocolate bars for around $16. (Prices subject to change). I give this place a 10/10! Experience new foods, new flavors. I want to taste the flavors of the world! It is worth putting on your bucket list with lots of other things...

I frequented this place last evening after finding them googling Kanafe. It was an impulse stop and buy. My thoughts: -the sweets were first rate and their kanafe was amazing. Best you can find in Columbus -the shop is very chic and looks like a high end bakery you would find on High Street in the Short North -their food, including their phyllo dough is handmade! That is dedication seldom found today -their flavors are the best I have purchased anywhere -if they don’t have a grandmother in the back creating all of these delicacies, I would be stunned. I would lay bets there is one behind the swinging door -If you have eaten middle eastern delicacies, please support this small business. It is a treasure -If you have never had it I would suggest you go and order a small box with different treats within it to get an idea. If you aren’t sure what to order, simply ask them to make a box for you.

This is equivalent to a high end bakery you would find in anywhere in the world and the work and time it takes to make is well worth the price. I would start with a small tray of Kanafe! You...
