Our choice of wedding caterer was really no contest. We scheduled tastings with a couple of caterers and the only one who really “wow’ed” us was First Class. If you live in the Indianapolis area, trust me when I say the drive down to Columbus for a tasting is more than worth it! We had a hard time deciding on our menu because it was all so delicious! Caleb didn’t even bat an eye as we added cocktail hour hors d'oeuvres and then adjusted headcount and then added cinnamon rolls for dessert (First Class doesn’t do traditional wedding cake, but their cinnamon rolls are a-ma-zing!). We requested a private dinner for the two of us, which they accommodated and even asked how we wanted our specific steaks prepared (talk about first-class service)! Having a few minutes to enjoy our meal and each other before greeting our guests was so appreciated. We opted for a plated meal with split entree (4 oz each of filet mignon and raspberry chicken) with brussel sprouts, asiago-stuffed red potatoes and baked mac n’ cheese and a spinach salad to start. We all know wedding reception food usually isn’t very good, but our guests raved about ours! The steak came out perfectly-cooked, which is so impressive for a group of 100+ people served at the same time. The only thing we would suggest is specifically indicating a food allergy. We picked specific foods without nuts due to an allergy but didn’t specifically say “no nuts due to an allergy”. First-Class ended up adding almonds to our spinach salad to fancy it up (which is greatly appreciated that they would go that extra mile). Once they found out about the allergy on the day of, they bent over backwards to fix it. We were also extremely impressed with their pricing. We had gone into it thinking only a buffet would be in our budget, but Caleb proved us wrong. Having a plated meal made the event that much more special for us and our guests. Thank you to Caleb and the entire First Class crew for impressing everyone who had the pleasure of being...

10/10 experience. Great food/bar and phenomenal service. Our guests were raving all night long! Good price point and helped us network with other Vendors as well.

My sister used First Class Catering and they were one of many companies I called when initially researching for our wedding. After our first initial phone call we knew we wanted to use them for our wedding. We did have a COVID wedding and Caleb was super knowledgeable regarding restrictions, we knew early on we were in good hands!

We had a fairly specific vision for our wedding early on and the staff at First Class Catering picked up on that right away. They helped with every aspect and we even utilized them to help with our design, too! They helped connect us to remaining Vendors which was super helpful as we partnered to pick out linens, plates, silverware, etc. The final product was beautiful and exactly the vision I had in mind (maybe better)!

The entire staff went above and beyond. We had an initial tasting to help us narrow down the many options available. We ended up doing a split plate, passed appetizers and a mini charcuterie plate at each place setting. We even had two signature cocktails along with beer/wine options!

On the wedding day, I was met in the bridal suite with the signature cocktail and the groom got his favorite beer hand delivered to him as soon as he walked in the door. Extra steaks were even delivered to the groomsmen after dinner!

For the dinner service, we used the "simultaneous service" offering which was a show in itself. The wait staff (dressed professionally and they were all SO KIND) delivered the plates at the same time to each table. It was not only efficient but an elegant touch to the dinner service.

We were in good hands with First Class Catering, the service AND the food was great, which is not easy to find! Our guests raved about them all night! You know you made a good choice when a guest requests their business card...

Good restaurant that commits highway robbery during special events. Avoid this place for any special event. Normally their menu is reasonably priced with a broad selection of items. I went here for their "Easter event" brunch (around 10AM) got reservations as you'd expect it to be busy given the holiday. A normal meal here any other day of the week costs ~$10 + drink cost. During their events they charge 2X and setup cheap plastic tables outside of their restaurant into the airport lobby to maximize their gouging event. For your double priced meal you get a buffet with 0 breakfast items (for a place that has half their regular menu as breakfast and isn't open past 2PM most days I found this appalling). The bus service was good but they would take your utensils and there were 0 spares at the buffet line or at the dessert table. Its like they didn't want you to go back for seconds when they themselves are charging double the price. The icing on the cake was the little piece of paper reminding you to tip your server well during the holiday. I get that they are working a holiday and all but this is normal hours for them and they are getting double the tips just based on the normal 15% rule because the restaurant is charging double the price! throws yellow flag and blows whistle unnecessary roughing of the customer! I have frequented this place whenever my parents fly into town and from hence forth when they fly into the airport I will pick them up and drive them to another restaurant even if it is a 30 minute round trip hassle. I refuse to...

My coworker and I gave this place a try after another coworker recommended it. My GPS found it perfectly, but I would have never known it was there had I not been told about it. Located inside the little airport, it has no signs outside or inside. The only way we knew we were in the right spot was due to the diner scent that led us to its door that had a small name decal on it. We arrived around noon on a Thursday and this place was PACKED!! What a view!!! So cool how you can see all the planes coming and going! Parking was really easy, too, since it’s at the airport. We waited just a minute to be seated and the waitress greeted us promptly. Really the fastest service ever regardless of them being so busy. My coworker got the tenderloin and I opted for the breakfast all day option and got The Tomahawk. The chorizo was some of the best best I’ve ever had which was quite a surprise coming from a Columbus IN airport. I saw like 5 things on the menu I wanted to try so we’ll definitely be back. Plus the pics from everyone else look so good and the coffee smelled heavenly! ☕️

For the second time while looking for a good place to eat. The search has brought us to a local restaurant that is next to our in a local small airport. This time it happened to be blackerby's hangar 5. It seems like mostly locals in the know come here plus any pilot leaving or arriving stops by to have food since it did have a bit of wait. Once we were seating service was quick and friendly. My fiance and I read the menus and quick ordered we both had the chopper breakfast which was a country fried steak over potatoes, with eggs and gravy plus toast your choice of bread. Mine also came with mushrooms. Food came out super quick after order that it caught by surprise. Piping hot we ate our food while looking out at the view of the airport. We could watch smalls plane land and take off. It was a really awesome experience. We would definitely visit again while visiting Columbus IN.

Excellent food for breakfast and lunch. Unfortunately I forgot to take photos of what I ate but it was all delicious. I had fluffy pancakes The size of the plate along with two eggs prepared just as I expected and bacon. Their sweet tea is really good as well. Others in our group had the meatloaf which he said was excellent and was a generous portion, and chicken fried steak which was prepared just the right way with gravy on top. Also had mac & cheese which was tasty but it could’ve been a little cheesier. Certainly worth a stop to experience the food and enjoy watching the planes as a taxi in and fly out. Large windows overlook the tarmac so it’s easy to see all of the planes. Very relaxing with great service, and the prices were very reasonable.
