M & M Chicken & Fish — Restaurant in Columbus

Visited M&M today to pick up some lunch for the fam. The place was clean, the owner/chef was friendly, and there were people waiting for their orders in their cars in the lot, all good signs. They had a bigger menu than I expected, so it took me a few minutes to figure out what to get. I wanted to try a little of everything, so I ordered one each of the shrimp, chicken thighs, catfish (all the fish sounded good, but you know if a place does good catfish the rest of their fish is probably great), and chicken liver meals (I'm a HUGE fan of fried chicken livers). After a ten minute wait in my truck, I went back in and my order was just being completed and bagged.

After a 5 minute drive to my sister's house, we opened all the boxes and dug in potluck style. The fries were great, nice thick steak fry style, with just the right amount of salt on them. The shrimp were tasty with a nice spicy kick, but not too much spice for the kids. The catfish was great. The chicken and fried livers, however, had both clearly had multiple trips through the fryer and were dry and overdone, the livers verging on burnt.

I would definitely go back for the fish and chips, but I feel like they only have chicken as a token item for that one person in the party who doesn't like fish, and I think M & M Chicken Fish just don't like that guy, lol. Seriously though, check them out and try the catfish. I didn't even notice the hushpuppies on the menu 'til I was leaving, I'll definitely be trying...

Delicious, made to order, hot, fresh food. In the straight ghetto. With the different shops there, it was a tad difficult to find parking close. No inside seating/dining. No handicap accessible parking entrance. Not a kid friendly type atmosphere but I guarantee your kid will love the food. Catfish was delicious n freshly cooked. Fries are heavily seasoned with seasoned salt & that makes them so much better. I forgot to ask if they had vinegar (for fries) other places do but not sure here. I love this place, but I will say this; it totally depends on who takes your order with the amount of food you get the size of the fit pieces of fish and the service. There are some employees there that I'm so happy to see when I walk in and then there's another one that when I walk in and see him it's like oh my God I already know the customer service is😜 I keep it short and I already know that my food is not going to be the same size or amount so it's a little upsetting when I walk in and see this certain person.
