Southern Sweets Old Fashioned Ice Cream Parlor — Restaurant in Columbus

I can NOT brag about this place enough. I have taken my family to Southern Sweets multiple times for ice cream at night. Even though they are super busy at times, they are always quick and so kind. Today, they knocked it out of the water though! I went in to get ice cream with a coworker. The owner saw us looking in the bakery case and stated she had sausage/cheese balls in the oven. I expressed how I had gotten them before and they were DELICIOUS! Unfortunately, it was going to be another 10+ minutes before they were done. I told them I would try to come back after work. We walked out and was getting in the car & the cashier ran out & said since I worked just around the corner, she wouldn't mind delivering sausage balls if I still wanted some! Yall! This sweet cashier & owner WOWED me!! She brought them to my work so quickly! If you haven't visited, you definitely should! They are so much better & better priced than the 31 flavors down...

I used to love this place. The ice cream is great...But today (Aug 2018) while visiting with some friends, we saw one of the workers reach his bare hand into the oreos and eat a few pieces. About a minute later, he did it again! He didn't wash his hands or anything, so they were not clean!

I wouldnt have minded so much if he had at least used the serving spoon to scoop them into his hand, but he didn't; he used his bare fingers which were also touching his mouth. That is incredibly unhygienic! It absolutely ruined my appetite. If he is putting his fingers into that, what else is he...

This was my first time to visit. The service was outstanding. I actually observed another customer who was getting ice cream takeaways that returned because she was having problems with her ice cream melting note. It was almost 100° so that was on her but the crew there was very accommodating to repackage her cones into cups and actually give her a couple of replacement scoops.
