Okay so I am going to start with.. I eat ALOT of pizza. I am going to tell you what I liked. And what I disliked. The things I disliked can most certainly be capitalized on. This review is not set in stone. I just have a few opinions. Take that for what you will. But Okay so the crust was good. Cooked the right amount. A littler on the Crisper side which I enjoy. But not overdone. A big thing I will say that surprised me is the sauce. Alot of places cannot get away with too much sauce. In very many cases it can ruin a pizza. And I am not a huge sauce guy so this is saying something. The sauce at Josies is a very light good tasting kind of sauce. There was a little more than id normally prefer. But I did not mind one bit. Which is a first ever for me. Knocked that one out of the park. The only 2 gripes I have is #1 the pizza NEEDS more pepperoni. I know you can always order extra. But if you order a pepperoni pizza. It is because you want to taste pepperoni and You want to have pepperoni in every bite. Forsure. And If you don't like alot of pepperoni then why order pepperoni? Then I would say #2 is that the pepperoni pizza NEEDS more seasoning. And again if you don't like alot of seasoning or alot of pepperoni. Idk about you but when I eat pizza it is not because I am trying to be healthy. It is because I want to take pleasure in eating it. I think if josie's could capitalize on those 2 things. They could and would have the best pepperoni pizza possibly in all of Columbus. Easily. With those 2 things in mind. I would drop my regular pizza place for them. I hope they read this review. And I will come back again gladly. I just hope those 2 things are atleast taken into consideration when I do. Lastly I just ask that you Cook one pizza the normal way. Cook one loaded up with pepperoni and a little extra seasoning. Put them side by side and tell me which one is better. I hope to come back and give an easy 5 stars. CAPITALIZE, CAPITALIZE,...
Read moreThis place has been around for almost 60 years. For my family it was a staple because we lived on Rodgers Ave, my mother has been eating their pizza since she was a kid and so have I. After 33 years on this earth this is the pizza I dream about, I now live in Cleveland so I don't get it very often and now it pops up in my dreams. When I first came to Cleveland I was trying to find something close enough to Josie's and only one place could Pegasus in Richmond but it closed shortly after I moved there. So I was lost till upon a trip to Columbus I decided just to drive to "The Bottom's" to see if it was still there and it was! It tastes just as good as ever, I now try to stop in every trip to Columbus. However it is greasy and its not fancy, and why should pizza be fancy, its still a damn good pizza! Bring acid reducers! We end up getting subs and a small pizza, try the subs they are superb! We do this so we can have both options, to me its worth it! The only thing that is missing is the Pac-Man and Centipede...
