Area 23 — Restaurant in Concord

I was very disappointed with my visit to Area 23. First of all, it comes up on Google as a brew pub, but they do not brew their own beer. They do have a good selection of beers from other brewers, some local. The food was not good. After viewing the limited menu, I decided on ribs, only to be told later that they were out and thawing more would take awhile. Same story with wings. Finally I ordered Nachos and my wife ordered a Cheeseburger. The burger had no extras. dressing or condiments and was crisp (blackened) on half of it. The Nachos were round chips (not complaining about the shape) with melted cheese only, no veggies, no meet - just chips and cheese. $9.50 for cheese and chips was a bit much, based on my experience elsewhere. $8.50 for burger and cheese in a bun (with chips) is a little pricey. Area 23 is a good proper bar. You enter into this wide open space where there are pool tables, dart boards and a big bar. Tables are set around the center of the space and live bands play, they have a drum and bass night and it's a pretty lively place. Their beer selection is great. They have many beers on tap and beers in the fridge. And what a selection of beers they have. The staff is also very wonderful. The owner is prominent and is almost always there helping out his staff. The bartenders are well versed in the way of the bar and are always so friendly. Our daughter is getting married close by, and we needed a space for the bridal party and family after the rehearsal. Kirk, the owner, was so kind and accommodating to us! From the bartenders and staff, to the regulars, and especially Kirk, everyone was so sweet and amazing! Our family and friends had a good time and karaoke was the cherry on top!! Bride and groom were definitely happy and enjoying themselves! This mother of the bride is overjoyed at how well the night went!
