Roc’n Oven Pizzeria — Restaurant in Conover

We have eaten here several times but tonight's experience will not only make me never go back but no one in my family will go back either. I am putting my experience on social media as well as my food blog for the Piedmont of North Carolina. Around 8:30 P.M. tonight I started trying to call to order for delivery, 4 times I was put on hold for longer than 5 minutes so of course I would hang up and call back. At 9:30 P.M. a guy did answer the phone and when I told him I would like to place an order for delivery he told me that all of the time slots were filled up and that I could only have carry out. After I had been calling for an hour of course this upset me, so I told him that if I couldn't get a delivery that I would have to start taking my business elsewhere, because, as I had stated I had been calling for an hour and put on hold 4 times and forgotten about. His reply was, "Do what you gotta do." And he hung up the phone. Hire some more drivers and quit treating your money source otherwise known as customers as if they do not matter, because we are the ones that continue to keep you in business, although, it seems you may have forgotten that. And reading through the thread of reviews, I see a lot of apologies towards the complaints, however, no action taken to win disgruntled...

My husband have always wanted to try this place out. He convinced me to go there with him about 3 weeks ago on a Friday night around 7ish. When we walked in there was like 2 other families (2-4peoples) in there. The buffet was already empty with like 4 pizzas. The salad bar looks like a mess and there was empty dry up pasta on the opposite end of the salad bar. We asked the waitress if they can request them to make pasta and a chicken pizza off their menu. She said yes, and put our order in. I also requested that they make a cheese pizza because that is all my 4 year old would eat. Long story short, after an hour of waiting, watching the waitress clean and other girls stand around. Of course! I was pissed. The waitress kept telling us the pizza was coming out but the going thing I see going out was the delivery orders. The guy delivering that night was in and out 3x while we was there waiting to eat off the buffet! Worst services ever and they didn't bring the chicken pizza out till we was getting up to leave! This wonderful little spot is a staple of Conover. It has a fun atmosphere (game room for kids) and the decor is always complimentary to the setting. They have beautiful Holiday decor right now. They have local craft brews available along with domestic beers. So far, I have enjoyed every menu item that I have tried. The pizza from here is my favorite. This pizza is not greasy like premade ones or ones from more commercial pizza places. The pizza from here is the best because the dough is very soft and super fresh. It is even soft when reheated. Its not really thick, but its not paper thin and soggy either. Its a perfect texture. The lasagna is delicious. Its homemade and it has a perfect balance of cheese, meats and sauce. The wings are also a must have because they run them thru the oven twice, so they are crispy (on the skins) but juicy on the inside.
