The pancakes were indeed fluffy, but my heart wasn’t a-flutter at Brick & Butter. Here’s why. First, this is a dynamite little establishment, and I think it’s well worth a visit. The operator was friendly, and we arrived on a sleepy Saturday in the thick of an Orlando summer day - so the place was empty. Translation: no lines. That could be key if you’re planning an outing and don’t want to wait too long in the melting heat of August. Located in the foot truck park on East Michigan behind the A La Carte bar, Brick & Butter’s cart is lovely. The order screen was a little too hard to read in the direct sunlight, but not a dealbreaker. Here’s the downside: We ordered the ham and egg breakfast sandwich with the rosemary focaccia. I liked the inspired use of such a boldly seasoned bread, but the egg was disheveled - almost falling apart. The ham was practical at best. The two halves are stacked, which is convenient for sharing, but I was otherwise disappointed. We ordered a side of scrambled eggs, which were OK. If you’re into hashbrowns (and who isn’t), I would tread cautiously. Brick & Butter’s take on this is effectively a pile of fried potato crisp, akin to the shelf-stable 4C sprinkles you top an Asian dish with. No moist center, just dried husks. It was a miss. But let’s talk pancakes, because this is where they nailed it. This fluffy stack of classics were golden brown and perfectly grilled, with just the right amount of butter and syrup to finish it off. No need for any accompaniments - just grab a fork and plow in. I’m not dissing this joint at all. I think with a few modifications, I’d be all in. But go for the pancakes and thank me later.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting one of the best food trucks I've encountered, specializing in artisanal sandwiches. From the moment I arrived, I was struck by how welcoming and family-friendly the atmosphere was. Despite the steady stream of orders pouring in, the team managed to prepare each dish in record time, ensuring that every sandwich left the truck looking picture-perfect and bursting with flavor. The quality of the food was absolutely top-notch. My favorite sandwich so far has to be the B&B Chicken Parm. It's an absolute explosion of flavors that takes your taste buds on a journey. The homemade sauce perfectly complements the fresh pesto, and the crispy chicken is just the right amount of crunch. Every bite is a harmony of textures and tastes that keeps you coming back for more. It's the kind of sandwich where you can taste the care and passion that goes into crafting it. The service was another highlight. The staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and clearly dedicated to ensuring every customer had a great experience. They made sure all the orders were prepared quickly without compromising on quality, and it showed in the smiles of everyone around. Overall, this food truck is a gem. The combination of high-quality, delicious food, a warm and welcoming environment, and stellar customer service makes it a place I’ll definitely be returning to. Whether you're a local or just passing through, I highly recommend giving it a try—you won't regret it!

Ok, people, hear me out! First time here at A La Carte and also my first time trying the food from the Brick and Butter truck. I just had one of the best Cuban sandwiches I've ever tasted. The first thing you’ll notice after the first bite is the bread. Wow. Buttery with a crispy crust, but not the “it’ll ruin the roof of your mouth” kind of crispy. Absolutely perfect. The pork was delicious, with a slow-cooked taste that I loved. The ham was tasty as well. It had the perfect amount of cheese, which I prefer—too much cheese can definitely throw off the taste and balance of the ingredients. This was a solid, solid sandwich. The potato chips were excellent. Freshly fried and perfectly seasoned. Nope, these aren’t from a bag. My son had the tripleta sandwich, and he said it was amazing too. It looked delicious from my side! I had the PB&J beer from the bar area. It hit different. It was really good, but definitely caught me off guard. I wasn’t expecting those flavors in a beer, and let me tell you, it was THAT good. I noticed some reviews complaining about the prices. Well, people, first of all, this is the SoDo area, and these guys are using quality ingredients. So in my opinion, the prices are fair given the quality of the food, portion size, and venue. I met the owners and their staff—they were great and extremely friendly. They also own the pizza food truck, which has great reviews, and I’ll definitely try it soon.
