Caribbean Kitchen — Restaurant in Petersburg

Well I would like to say I usually love their food but yesterday my food was spoiled.. I told the owner she said that I set my food out too long it's only been an hr and a half.. I cater food and also know how to cook Jamaican food I don't think it should spoil that soon unless it's been sitting out before I got it. she said that I needed my receipt to get my money back but she didn't give me one... I did sign a receipt because I used my card...she then said ma'am it's just food...I told her that I love my Jamaican food and it's my money I spent... my food had a creamy sauce that was brown/grey and really thick sour tasting... The rice was mushy like they cooked it with the chicken or maybe it was jus old... I began gagging because it taste really sour...and I thought about the horrible bad plumbing smell that the restaurant had it made me think the smell had something to do with it. I know spoiled food... I told my children don't eat it because I purchased all of us food so I wouldn't have to cook I still ended up going to food lion and cooking for them which is the best decision I've made... I asked did they have a new chef she said no it's the same chef but idk why she can't admit that the food she gave me had a change in taste.. the food had a really bad odor... It's my loss i just want others to know what I experienced... I usually love it but they messed me up... I feel like the earlier you get Caribbean kitchen the fresher the food will be... I've been craving jamaican lately and decided to try this place. I've been to it twice this past week. The first day I tried the curry chicken and today I tried the goat curry. Both dishes were really good. Has good flavor and the portions is excellent. On top of that the prices are very good for what you get. I've also tried tropics in hopewell and I would prefer this place cause it's cheaper. Tropics charges $17.99 for a large curry chicken. I believed I paid $13 at this spot, and the portion is much bigger. I could barely finish it. Today I ordered a small goat curry which was still a good portion and very tasty. I will definitely return and try some ox tail. I've never had them before. For about the same price of a nasty meal at McDonald's or any fast food restaurant, you can come here and grab a hot fresh, delicious, feels like a home cooked meal instead. I arrived to the location on google maps which had a sign saying located at “840 Wythe St”. No problem, arrived to the updated location at 1:23 and placed my order at 1:32 for x2 large platters and x1 small (fried chicken). Upon checking out I look at my receipt and see that I was charged .25 more on each item than listed online, on screen, and menu.

The guy at the register informed me that it would be a 20 min wait and they haven’t updated their menu prices (all good). I then told the guy please make sure that time is accurate because I am on duty with Law Enforcement. Time goes by and it falls on 2:05 still patient I ask the young man again for an update. The young man steps into the kitchen for 5 minutes just to come out and tell me it will be 15/10 minutes.
