Cuvaison Winery — Restaurant in Napa

I don’t want to give this place a bad review but I got to say the service I got from a particular gentleman really ruined this experience. We were checked in with Silva “she’s great at problem solving” you’ll read later. David offered great service with giving our dog some water.we Sat down for our tasting but when this gentleman came he hosted the table after us first, and mentioned they were doing only bottle and glass tasting.the lady asked to tasted the wine before purchasing and he opened a new bottle for them” probably poured them 2 glasses before getting on to us, later when he reached our table I asked about getting a splash, and he mentioned it wasn’t opened.I confused, that he was able to open one for the other table and not us made me feel uncomfortable and out of place.never the less he poured me a splash and not my fiancé, nor he asked if he would like to try something like the guest in front us. We were sitting next to wine club member that was also confused about tasting..we talked about it with Silva, and she was able to problem solve the confusion very professionally. Rochanne was able to save the day with a quick and very informative tasting for both tables. Cuvaison is a beautiful winery with a great view, a nice patio, and lots of natural light. We loved our experience our first visit, so we returned with our families over the holidays. This time, we were disappointed. We booked the Estate Tasting Experience because it was marketed as an entirely indoor experience and offered 5 different wines. Having elderly parents, this was a great option for us because it was too cold to sit outside. After making the reservation, we learned that there’s been an error on the website and they offer only 4 wines, not 5. And, when we got there, they attempted to seat our party outside, saying there was no more indoor seating available. After explaining that we only booked the Estate tasting for the above reasons, the staff was able to make arrangements for us which we really appreciated. Cuvaison winery is set out in a very beautiful location. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. The tasting menu is fixed therefore it restricts the option to try your choice of wine from their list nevertheless their tasting menu is nicely curated and you won’t be disappointed if you like dry wines. I would say it’s less of a wine tasting experience and more of a place to hang out with friends or a romantic date with some great wine. Although the servers are in a bit of a rush to serve all the customers they are very knowledgeable and give you complete information about the wine, their pairings.
