Title: A Soulless Experience: A Terrible Soul Food Restaurant
Rating: ★☆☆☆☆
I recently had the misfortune of dining at a soul food restaurant that left me utterly disappointed and regretful. This establishment, which shall remain nameless, completely missed the mark when it came to delivering an authentic and enjoyable soul food experience. I feel compelled to share my dreadful encounter, in hopes of sparing others from the same disappointment.
First and foremost, the atmosphere was abysmal. The dingy interior gave off a vibe of neglect and lack of care. It was dimly lit, which only served to hide the unappetizing state of the premises. The tables were sticky, the utensils were tarnished, and the overall cleanliness was questionable at best. It felt as if no effort had been put into creating a pleasant dining environment.
Moving on to the food, it was an unmitigated disaster. Soul food is supposed to be rich, flavorful, and prepared with love, but this restaurant failed on all accounts. The dishes lacked the authenticity and soul that are essential to this cuisine. The fried chicken, which should have been the star of the show, was disappointingly dry and tasteless. It seemed as if it had been sitting under a heat lamp for far too long. The collard greens were overcooked and lacked any discernible seasoning, resulting in a mushy and unpalatable mess. The macaroni and cheese was a sad excuse for a classic comfort dish, with a gloopy texture and an absence of flavor. It was evident that shortcuts had been taken in the kitchen, and the lack of care was evident in every bite.
To add insult to injury, the service was shockingly poor. The staff seemed disinterested and apathetic, displaying a complete disregard for their customers. They were slow to take orders, forgetful when it came to bringing requested items, and seemed annoyed when approached with questions or concerns. It was evident that customer satisfaction was the last thing on their minds.
Not only did this restaurant fail to deliver a satisfying culinary experience, but it also left a bitter taste in my mouth, both figuratively and literally. The lackluster atmosphere, the tasteless and poorly executed dishes, and the deplorable service all contributed to an utterly regrettable dining experience.
In conclusion, I strongly advise against venturing into this soul food restaurant. Save yourself the disappointment, and seek out an establishment that truly understands and honors the essence of soul food. This particular restaurant was a soulless abomination that failed to live up to even the most basic...

I ordered some fried chicken strips smothered in gravy with over medium eggs, cheese grits, butter biscuit and fruit punch / lemonade. When I tell you I wasn’t prepared for this goodness.. it slapped me all the way down in my chair to the point I am filled to CAPACITY. Everything had so much flavor the food was hot and tasty. The outside needs a good remodel and the inside could use a makeover but Eloise & Earnestine really did it with the service and food. I’m truly impressed. Being down in Miami with no family it’s hard to have that home cooked feeling and this place gives me such good vibes and I can tell they put heart and soul into what they do here. I absolutely love finding these places. It brings me joy to see hard working people making a living and serving our community without gouging like the rest of Miami does. I really hope that they continue to do great things and I will absolutely come out of my way to visit here time and time again. Don’t take my word for it though come and see for yourself. This place is the REAL DEAL. You have my seal of golden approval. ...
Read moreLooking for a legitimate soul food restaurant in Miami as I am a recent retiree in south Florida from Philadelphia! So I have a pretty good history with soul food southern cooking. Took a trip down from Miami Lakes on a wet Thursday afternoon to the 'hood! This place is as no-frills as it can get! A few tables, order at the counter, no waitress service as most people do take-out! Very nice menu with all the favorites at super prices for enormous plates of food! Each platter includes your protein, choice of rice & 2 sides! They also do breakfast & sandwiches! So place your order & wait about 5-10 minutes! They also accept credit cards! I ordered a lot because I planned on eating a little at the restaurant & taking the rest back home. I ordered the Meatloaf & a Smothered pork chops & Smothered Chicken wings & a small order of pork spare ribs , along with a bread pudding! Collard greens, Yams, Mac & Cheese, baked beans were my sides along with pigeon peas & rice! The food is tasty, freshly made, hot & very nourishing! This is not fancy anything just good old- school soul food for the locals, no tourists! I copied the bill! Shout out to Brandon, the manager for...
