Called first to see if we could order by phone. Since we are immunocomoromised, we try to keep indoor time to a minimum. Man said OK, but wasn't helpful, sensing attitude. Another reviewer said you can get a quesadilla with a corn tortilla, so we then asked about that as my partner is gluten-free. Man said "no." No offers to help us find what we could order with corn tortillas. Then we asked for tamales. It was 5pm on a Wed evening and he said curtly, "we're out." I don't know if he didn't want to help us at that point. Regardless, he was the rudest person we've interacted with in a Boone restaurant. This was thankfully where we ate while driving through Boone. My husband had set the GPS to Jimmie John's, but the traffic was insane so parking was impossible. He found this gem, and it was a far superior experience. This was the real deal Mexican food with fresh and healthy ingredients! It wasn't one of those heavy, greasy style Mexican restaurants that cover burritos until they are swimming in sub-par cheese. This is the opposite, fresh and light. Wow! What a treat. Found this while searching for the best salsa de la casa in the area. Well... we found the best authentic street tacos. These were honestly some of the very best I have eaten. Fresh as can be. The masa used for the tortillas is perfect! The meats were beautifully seasoned and cooked perfectly. We are excited to have found this place and eager to get back. They have a great selection of house made hot sauces at the condiment bar. Ice cream and Mexican sodas are available as well. Cozy little dining area with seating...
