Learn moreWilly's Kitchen is an absolute gem! We stumbled upon this charming spot just before closing time, and it was a delightful experience. From the moment we walked in, the decorations and charming caricatures of the staff lining the walls introduced us to everyone there, making us feel like we were part of a warm and welcoming family.
One caricature, in particular, stood out from all the rest – it was Kathy's. Her motherly warm spirit was beautifully captured in her caricature, and it read, 'I came with the building, Have a great Day.' Kathy's presence added an extra layer of warmth to our dining experience.
The service, too, made us feel like we were right at home. Kathy's friendly demeanor and attentive care made us feel like we were part of the Willy's Kitchen family. She even mentioned that if we're ever in the area again, we should stop by and say hi.
The atmosphere was quaint and cozy, setting the perfect backdrop for a memorable meal.
Now, let's talk about the food – it was nothing short of fantastic. My wife ordered the French Toast, the bread was fresh, buttery , and sprinkled with just the right amount of cinnamon. She raved about her cheese eggs and how her bacon was cooked to perfection.
As for me, I went for my usual diner choice, the #1 - Eggs any style with hash browns, meat of your choice, and toast.
I opted for scrambled eggs with cheese, onions in my hash browns, crispy bacon, and sourdough toast. The combination was simply delicious, and the prices were incredibly affordable.
Overall, our visit to Willy's Kitchen left us feeling like we were part of a warm and welcoming family. The food, the service, the charming decor, and the caricatures of the staff, especially Kathy's, made it a memorable experience that truly felt like home. If you're in the mood for farm-fresh goodness served with a side of genuine hospitality and a touch of whimsy, don't miss out on Willy's Kitchen! And if you're ever there, be sure to say hi to Kathy!
OMG - I almost forgot, I took a picture the lemon pound cake with lemon frosting.. to post to remind myself to get me a slice next time...
Read moreIf I could put ZERO stars, I would. I came here with my two little ones and husband at 12:00 pm and was asked to stand in the doorway by Cathy until she returned upon arrival. Normally, you’re greeted with a hello, asked for inside or outside seating, how many in your party, etc. We stood there for about ten minutes while she served others outside and didn’t return. Two employees inside stared at us in confusion and kind of made me uncomfortable . After a few more minutes, an employee came over and asked if we were okay. I told her we had to wait per Cathy’s request to be seated. She said, did she even tell you that we switched from breakfast to lunch or that it will be a small wait. I said no, we got no details. She apologized and went out to Cathy. Cathy comes to us from outside and said unfortunately we cannot be seated or served. I asked why not. She said we’re not serving or taking orders at this time. I asked her why she didn’t say that before instead of having us and our small kids just standing there aimlessly. Of course, her response was “I was serving other people”. Out of frustration, I decided to leave because it was ridiculous. On my way out I see another family come in. To be clear, they are Caucasian & I am African American. They were seated RIGHT AWAY. I went back in because I refuse to subject myself to anything even remotely close to racism especially in front of my kids. When I walked in and addressed it, we were told we could be seated BUT that breakfast was no longer being served….it was 12:15. I’ll attach the menu photos. I didn’t even say if we were here for breakfast or lunch. Regardless, my children are going to eat and be served. No need for them to have to go hungry or wait for us to find somewhere else as a result. I’m completely disgusted. Just poor, ridiculous, racist service. I wouldn’t advise anyone to come here. I sat down to be served for the PRINCIPLE. My children were not about to be turned away...
Read moreThis place used to be really good in all aspects, food, service and the atmosphere. That is all gone now. We had to listen to the cooks coming from the back to the front telling the waitress and bus guy about his cousin's baby shower cookout at his house that he took her money but don't feel like cooking no more. About how is almost dated a girl that was his cousin and the stories goes on with plenty of adult language. The waitress reminded you of an old school truck stop type attitude and the bus guy basically just existed, was more interested sitting at the counter watching the game. It was also freezing in there to the point we went to the car to get blankets. Ordered the food. Then before it came out they were out of something, totally understandable. Ordered something different. Food came out with a side I did not order, I said I ordered something different, she brought out that side and took the slaw that I didn't order and threw it away. Fried fish was different types of fish and completely flavorless. Meatloaf recipe is the same, but meatloaf was cold with hot gravy. Stewed tomatoes are the same. Fries were definitely double fried bc they were awful with no seasoning. A couple came in at 3:30 and stated they saw on Facebook about the special ( I think chicken Oscar but I could be wrong) at first no one knew what they were talking about. Then waitress said oh that maybe the dinner special but it starts at 4pm very rudely. The couple said that's ok nevermind got up and left. They did unroll their silverware, but when bus guy went over he rolled it back up and put it away. The check was also handed to us with the food, so even if we were going to get dessert we weren't going to anymore. It wasn't busy what so ever. Needless to say there are much better places to go with a lot better food, service and atmosphere especially...
