While it's hard to find a place open for Christmas and they were very accommodating, the service I received was subpar. When seated the seating was so close together we had to move all the tables behind my mother, which made her feel self conscious. We are not exactly very large women.... medium chubby at most. It's a small restaurant so we tried not to be upset. But if anyone over 250lbs wants to eat here, don't sit at a booth lol. Then when my mother was served her coffee, it was lukewarm with about a tablespoon worth of coffee grounds sitting at the bottom. This got in her teeth and choked her a bit. We let our waitress know but she seemed upset that we were bringing up a valid issue. I understand it's busy but simply saying, "I didn't make the coffee" doesn't suffice. A simple, "I'm so sorry! Let me replace that" would've been enough. When she replaced it, she avoided us for the remainder of our meal. She had a coworker bring us our meal and was on her phone very visibly at her work station. Not cute. We were also still charged for the coffee, despite the bad experience with it. Her coworker seemed young and flustered being put in that position but the young lady who brought us our food was very sweet. Seeing our own waitress ignore us while we still needed silverware, napkins, and more water for the table was what really upset me. We didn't see her again until she brought us the check (her coworker helped us in bringing us the items we needed) and my mom, the sweet saint she is, told her not to worry. It was the nice way of saying, "Don't worry. We won't be back." She still tipped her well since our waitress did have to work Christmas afterall. We understand it was busy but that doesn't excuse poor service. Two waiters with 5 tables...... Idk maybe she was new. On the bright side, the food was delicious. Overpriced. But delicious. A small side of tater tots was like $5 or something. I counted all of 10 tater tots. And they were about as warm as my mothers coffee. My $19 omelette came only with toast, so ofc I needed another side to really make it a meal. On average each person at our table ate for $25. The food was very good but not exactly high quality and had small portions.
Overall, I feel like I probably would've had a decent experience if it weren't a holiday. But I definitely will not be giving this place another chance. From the prices to the service, it was quite lackluster. They're actually located right next to this lovely diner called Ramblewood Diner. Wish they were open today instead, I would've loved to enjoy their wonderful food and service...
Read moreThe service is awful. This place seats maybe 35 people total. There were plenty of people who worked in the front of the house to handle a full restaurant. But, we waited 20 minutes for coffee and sweet tea. The water we asked the server for never came. We ordered breakfast. Steak and eggs (17.99) for my husband, hot cakes and eggs for me (14.99). My husband asked for his steak to be medium, it was more than well done, he also asked for an extra egg. We also ordered a side of tater tots. We waited about 45 minutes for the food. The eggs were not seasoned at all. The pancakes were a joke. They came with no butter and a splash of syrup with powdered sugar on top, they were about the width of a sand dollar and the thickness and color of cardboard. I ate about 3 bites of eggs and set the plate aside. Since the service sucked, the server never appeared to ask about the food. The irony being that during the wait for our food we were asked a few times how we were doing. Finally someone, the hostess maybe, asked if she could take the plate away. No ask about if something was wrong. My husband asked for the check, the server brought that and asked my husband if everything was good at that point. He said it was not and paid. The total was $60+ for a meal that was basically an insult for the price. The plate of food that was never eaten we still paid for. I know the place is new. There are a lot of kinks to work out. The seating, the service, the ability to get food out of the kitchen are all issues. The food is not worth the price. 4.99 for a single sweet tea, 3.99 for a coffee, neither of which were refilled. The whole experience felt like paying to be insulted. Find another place to...
Read moreFirst: the food was good. However everything else about the experience was just very disappointing. The atmosphere is more of a take-out place rather than a comfortable dining destination. The music was extremely loud and we had to request that it be turned down just so that we could hear our own voices. The orders took an extremely long time to arrive and we were not served at the same time. Some of us were half way through our meals before others at our table were served. As I stated earlier, the food was good but the prices were very high. Worse, though, was that any deviation from the menu was an up charge. One person at our table asked for tomato slices instead of potatoes and was charged $1.99. Another diner asked for Swiss cheese instead of cheddar and was charged $.99 (she was served cheddar anyway). Another in our party asked for onions to be added to their omelet and was charged $1.99. This was a surprise to all as the menu didn’t indicate charges for substitutions or additions. The server didn’t mention it either. We were not surprised at a charge for tomatoes but $1.99 for a few onions? Seriously? Also one of our party was charged $4 for a can of soda. Definitely not a place we will ever return to as many other restaurants would charge less and deliver a significantly...
