El Girasol — Restaurant in Cordele

My daughter went and had lunch today with a friend at Cordele location between 1 and 2 today 7-1-2025. I ordered EL girasol special Texan, and me and my husband go there often and get that,so I know what it consist of!! We'll my order did not have shrimp on it, and maybe 1 mushroom, I was very disappointed, so I called just to let them know, and was pretty much told the kitchen said if it was suppose to have shrimp ,they would have checked so basically I was down right called a liar!! I am just flabbergasted that she had the nerve to treat me that way!! I will never go there again!! No i am not gonna bring it back up there, it's 34 miles from where i live,and I am not that hard up for shrimp!! They know NO customer service!!! And apparently don't mind losing customers!! I really just wanted them to know!! My meal is always perfect when we go in there!! But offend me, NO SIR. I am not a liar!! And to automatically take the kitchens word , like they make no mistakes!!! I was very offended by this buisness, so...

El Girasol is easily my favorite Mexican restaurant. I do not live in Cordele so I don't come here often but I've been eating here for YEARS! My go to is the chile relleno meal. You can choose between beef or chicken.This chile relleno is NOT a sorry sliver of bell pepper with ground beef in the middle and drowned in cheese like you find at other Mexican restaurants.These are two true poblano peppers, stuffed with beef or chicken(I get the chicken)with a small amount of cheese on top and served with a salad and rice. Their rice is phenomenal! I am not a fan of Mexican rice at all because I always find it to be gritty and dry but this is without a doubt the best I've ever tasted! Their salsa is incredible, chips are always fresh, cheese dip is perfect, and their sweet tea is seriously on point. I never have anything short of a great meal when I come here. The restraunt is always clean, staff is friendly and attentive. I think the prices are normal for a Mexican restaurant and the portions...

I hate to complain but we ordered a combination plate with a smothered burrito, cheese enchilada and a chili relleno. My sister and I ordered the same plate. When I bit into the chili relleno it was horrible! Tasted rancid. I told my sister about it and she said the same couldn’t even swallow it. When we told them about it I just wanted a new plate with only a smothered burrito. She told me they can’t substitute. So we had to keep our plate and change out the chili relleno for another item. I told her I would just remove the chili relleno. Not going to argue. I’m really sorry that I can’t give them a better review but it seriously was bad. Not even a 10% discount. Nothing just “Really? We haven’t had any other complaints.” I felt as if she thought we were trying to get something free. I work in hospitality so I know that this happens. Anyway. We will never eat here again nor recvomend...
