This was my 2nd time at this restaurant, the food was okay the 1st time so my family and I decided to come again. Tonight we waited over an hour for our food, which waiting that long the food should’ve been hot and fresh..well it wasn’t. I didn’t like my food at all, I had the Railhouse chicken, the chicken was dry and didn’t have any flavor, the bacon looked hard and old, and my onion rings were full of grease. I only took one bite of each and immediately told the waitress to take it off my ticket. She kept asking what was wrong and I told her, which after I told her she seemed to have an attitude. She came back with the same food and said that per the owner , the food could be discounted but couldn’t be taken off the ticket because there was nothing wrong with the food. First of all, how can you tell me there’s nothing wrong with food that I ordered. So my husband asked to see the owner and she said that the owner was busy cutting steaks. Then I said I’m not paying for something that I didn’t eat, the waitress says well I’ve worked at several restaurants and this is how they do it. I said that’s not true and this isn’t good customer service. She said well this is a private owned company and not a corporation, I said well I’ve eaten several times at all types of restaurants and they make the customer the first priority. They tried to be slick and take the food off the ticket but charged us a 18% gratuity when it was only a family of 5. This is the worst customer service I’ve experienced in awhile coming from a business owner that couldn’t come and see why their customer was complaining nor send a manger or anyone out to address my concerns. I’m big on customer service and this was very unprofessional! I don’t know what you all assumed about me and my family but I wasn’t returning the food because I couldn’t afford it , I wanted to return the food because it wasn’t good, we eat at far more better restaurants than this one with much better customer service coming from the owners. I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS...
Read moreI’m positive this place is popular with locals and perhaps we just came on a bad day. But what a day…
We sat close to the front window for a Sunday lunch. We had to move to another table because the flies were overwhelming. Not just the dozen or so hovering over the table, but the second dozen dead flies between the table and the sandwich board.
Why’d we not just move to another restaurant? We’re still asking that question. But we stayed and ordered. Service was friendly but not the quickest. Food came out at a good pace.
The pretzel bites were good. Burgers - no one asked how they should’ve been cooked and 4 were ordered at our table. This should’ve been red flag number 2. They were hard and gray. Almost like they’d been cooked the night before to a likely acceptable temperature and the overzealous reheat threw them over the edge. My wife and son each left more than they ate. The salad - the only thing on the menu I could eat - consisted of lettuce, tomatoes, 2 thick slices of white onion, chicken that probably does better in their chicken philly, and cheese that had most definitely gone bad. Ever smell rancid cheddar? I’ll smell it for weeks.
We didn’t ask for money off the bill or a replacement (my appetite was gone) and tipped more than 20% in deference to the kind and courteous staff.
Next time we’ll listen to the 10-year-old, who called it right when he saw the flies.
The building has amazing potential, the menu is good, and I’ll bet they crush bar service when it’s dark. They should do better...
Read moreWent in wanting a burger, left still wanting a burger. Sat at the bar, waited 25 minutes before a bar tender/waitress acknowledged us. When she did she just haphazardly threw the menu at us. I asked for a drink menu as I saw this place had cocktails. She just pointed to the beer list. Eventually I got up and found a cocktail list further down the bar. Ended up with a pretty mediocre tequila drink. Husband had a beer he really enjoyed. While we waited over an hour for our food, the bar tender never once came by to ask if we wanted another drink. I did, however, witness a different waitress threaten a patron who finally gave up on their food and just wanted to pay for his drinks. Finally flagged waitress down to put another order of drinks in. I switched to a Merlot, got a Sauvignon Blanc instead. Didn’t argue the point because all night I watched the front of house get into altercations with other customers who dared to complain. Finally got our food 80 minutes later. I wish I could say it was worth it but the burger patty barely fit 1/3 of the bread and it was overcooked. Again, didn’t complain because I didn’t want to wait another 80 minutes. While we ate, two other tables left and got yelled at by waitresses. Owner didn’t really seem to care about patrons or quality that came out. Picture of my “patty...
