Pho Nam — Restaurant in Cornelius

Long Version: I love pho, but my boyfriend has never tried any Vietnamese food before. So, I found this place on Google, and due to the many good reviews, we went to try it. My boyfriend is picky about what he eats, so he, although always eager to try something new, was a little skeptical about the whole experience. When asked what he would like to order, he wasn't sure and asked the owner (who took our orders) if they could make some rice dish that was "like, garlicky, ginger? I dunno." The owner, John, just nodded and said, "I'll make you happy, man." And you know what happened? My boyfriend had the best thing he's ever tasted. We're not sure exactly what it was called (we should've asked), but we sure do appreciate the owner making it. We also had Pho Tai and Pho Ga and both were delcicious! The broth was fresh, the meat was tender and flavorful, and the jalapenos were fresh and delicious. Needless to say, we WILL be coming back as often as we can because not only was the food INCREDIBLE, but the service was the best I have had in a looong time.

10/19/2022 stopped here for dinner! Ordered the rare beef pho and it was absolutely delicious!!!! I also ordered a shrimp spring roll and a tofu spring roll!! The food is phenomenal here!!! The pho is perfect for a cold day!! I can’t say enough how much I love this place!!!!!! Family owned business that needs our support! I would eat this everyday if I could! I highly recommend stopping here to eat and try different things!!!

9/8/2022 Saw this place and wanted to try something new! I ordered the korean beef with white rice and a tofu roll. The food was absolutely delicious!! This is a little hole in the wall kind of place but the food is WONDERFUL! This is one of those little gem places that us locals will only know about.

I highly recommend stopping here for dinner. It’s nothing fancy but the food is why you’re there!!

I write genuine reviews so here goes…. First! My husband loves this place. And he is quite the foodie. He stumbled upon it last month & keeps going back. He loves the fact that the food doesn’t make him feel stuffed. It’s rather light! He is in love with their papaya salad. I tasted it, he is right. It is good!

Pho Nam is owned and operated by a father and son.

My husband did all the ordering since he is familiar with the menu. Our son also enjoys Asian food always seeking out unique places to eat.

I can tell that the chef really enjoys making his specialties. I won’t lie, I’m kind of spoiled, and prefer places with more ambience & a nicer powder room experience. They could do better if they improve these things. But I’m sure my husband will be back for more Vietnamese cuisine. I took some pics and some videos....
