We went to Krista's on Thanksgiving. We had reservations with another company in Portland the Cracker Barrel and when we arrive to the Cracker Barrel they had no food left and our reservation could no longer be redeemed at that point. So with the whole family in the parking lot, we were all flustered combing the internet for places open on Thanksgiving at 3:30 p.m. in the afternoon. We found a place in Augusta Maine finally who had said they had plenty of food and we're sorry to hear about what happened to us and to head on up from Portland to them so within drive time and arriving to Augusta this restaurant also was no longer serving Thanksgiving dinner because they ran out of food and only serving food off the bar menu. It was all appetizers. At this point my whole family is so frustrated. The family didn't want appetizers for food on Thanksgiving. So we all piled back into the truck and start combing through Google's web page for places serving Thanksgiving on Thanksgiving Day in Maine. And we came across Krista's. I called them and they said they stopped serving food at 6:00 or 6:30 p.m. I'm looking at the GPS and it says we're not going to make it from Augusta to Krista's until 6:40 I explained to them that we have already gone to two places one we had a reservation for they did not honor and the second place we drove all the way to Augusta cuz they claim they had plenty of food got there and we're only surveying food from the bar menu. And at this point I'm practically crying. It's literally getting dark and we have at this point been rolled over by two restaurants that served our family up some of the worst service I've experienced . KRISTAS WELCOMED US with no problem. Even KNEW WE WERE GOING TO BE LATE AND STILL ALLOWED US TO COME. THATS WHAT I CALL A RESTAURANT DOING RESTAURANT THINGS. At the end of the day, It was the best experience I have ever had when it came to service. They went out of there way to serve our family on Thanksgiving day even after there deadline to stop serving. I'm so very grateful for kristas. It's good to know even other customers are getting good restuarant/food service. Here are pictures of our plates after we had started to eat & there still...

Came up to Krista’s for lunch based on the reviews and a recommendation from Steph, a bartender at a tavern a few towns over. So glad we made the trip. We went early (lunch is first come first served. Got seated and was immediately blown away. The servers: all super friendly and awesome. The selection of mocktails- and the whole write up in the menu about them- 💯💜. The appetizer selection was impressive- we opted for roasted brussel sprouts- trust me- order them. My best friend and her mom and I all ordered sandwiches (they’re huge) and they are SO GOOD. Our waitress (Julie I think) offered to box up our leftovers. All the staff are just so great that we literally wanted for nothing. Here’s the thing though- if you like to eat- take half your lunch home because…. They come over with a display dessert tray and… it was all over for me. The Heath Bar whatever it was- it’s toe-curling. It’s ’I’ve died and gone to wherever the good ones go” good. Also ordered coconut cake and carrot cake to go because… EVERYTHING HERE IS AMAZING. We were offered coffee with dessert and I (without much hope) asked if they had iced coffee. Again- if you like GREAT coffee- get the iced coffee. It didn’t need sugar or flavor- it was really THAT good. To the staff here- thank you. Thank you for being the best, for complimenting my T shirt, for being friendly and gracious and kind and for NOT being uppity or pretentious. If you’re in the area this is a don’t miss restaurant. Food 10. Service 10. Atmosphere and vibe check- off the charts. If I were the owner I would be so proud of my staff- they really have customer service down. Also one of the reviews called this restaurant expensive- it’s not. It’s a you get what you pay for restaurant. I want fresh delicious food served by friendly non judgmental servers who can actually laugh and have fun. I got all those today. I couldn’t recommend this place enough and will...

This has to be one of the most disappointing experiences I have ever had or wish to have at a restaurant. My girlfriend and I happen to be staying at a neighboring town's bed and breakfast for the evening. She had made reservations for Krista's that evening for dinner. We showed up right on time to find several guests waiting in line ahead of us to be seated. No problem, most would take that as a good sign.Seeing it as a popular eating establishment. Upon waiting ten minutes for what was an obviously poorly trained hostess, we were recognized and asked to sit at the bar until a table had been cleared. Just a few minutes she said and looked about as stressed as any one person could (it wasn't THAT busy). So we sat at the bar, ordered a few drinks and waited and waited and waited. We see a couple who came in behind us get seated. My girlfriend reaches out to the scattered brained hostess and ask her if we had been forgotten. Oh no she says. We are just right now clearing a table. Now mind you this is forty minutes after her saying it the first time. She would not make eye contact nor could she be waved down during that long wait. The bar tender looked embarrassed. And yes, I looked into the dining room to see that there were tables with no guests seated at them. Finally we get seated. We decided what we would like. Now here is the real kicker! Another couple comes into the dining room and is seated right next to us.The waiter comes directly over to them, introduces himself and asks if he may get them a drink. HONESTLY! I was so angry at that point that we got up to leave. I asked to speak to a Manager and when I did it was evident that she was EVEN MORE CLUELESS AND UNCONCERNED as the hostess. Whoever owns this establishment get a new hostess and manager now! Before they lose you even...

I took the birthday boy out for dinner (yesterday) at this absolutely amazing (new to us)restaurant just 30 minutes from home in Cornish Maine. We made reservations for 4pm (they were suggested). Inside we were the only people eating other than a few people at the bar. Very inviting place. Our waitress Mildred was very pleasant and attentive. We started with an appetizer of oven seared bacon wrapped scallops with a maple glaze. These were huge and super tender. Cut them with a butter knife and they melted in your mouth. Then came the house salad of fresh spring greens, dried cranberries (not craisins), sliced almonds and crispy handmade onions on top with their balsamic vinegarette dressing. Also arriving was their freshly made bread, which was sort of like a focaccia. So much flavor. Our main course was locally sourced 9oz beef tenderloin topped with their steak sauce and crispy onions served over a bacon-cheddar potato cake with lightly seasoned summer squash, asparagus, carrot and broccoli. Hubby said that this was the most amazing tenderloin so so tender, which you probably could have cut it with a butter knife. My dinner was the pistachio haddock. This haddock came oven roasted with a pistachio crust and lemon aioli sauce served on a lemongrass basmati rice. I have never had such amazing haddock. The vegetables were the same as on the tenderloin. This chef really knows how to cook to appease all the flavor buds. The presentation of the meal was almost too pretty to eat. We ended the meal with little dessert cups. One being banana cream tart and the other a heath bar cheese cake. Both had a nice graham cracker crust with the taste of just slightly caramelized butter mixed in. Krista's Restaurant has now become a favorite place for us to eat.
