Vick's Famous Hamburgers — Restaurant in Corpus Christi

The 10pc chicken family meal was delicious. It came with fries & rolls. I also ordered a side of onion rings because I saw how good they looked in a review pic and they were out of this world delicious! I have attached my receipt to show the value in my order. My order fed 4 people extremely well. I called the Leopard location to place my order over the phone but was told they were very busy and it’s best to just order when you get there. I arrived and lobby doors locked by 7:10pm even though hours of operation on door states lobby closes at 8:00pm (but no big deal.) I ordered thru drive thru speaker and was quoted 15-20 mins wait on fresh chicken & of course I said ok because I want that good fried chicken. Then after the order taken the wait time was re-quoted to 25-30mins wait time and I still said ok. (Worth the wait.) At the window a friendly young cashier repeated my order and gave me correct change back and asked if I would like a receipt. My order did take about 29 mins but it was hot and fresh and fully cooked. The onsite supervisor was also friendly and delivered our meal packed in two bags. The meal was delivered correctly and extremely delicious! Thank you both for helping my family meal be the best dinner of the week! So when you go, be patient and let the workers prepare and serve you a hot delicious meal. We will be back! The onion rings are so tasty and perfectly breaded! Chicken seasoned correctly....

I took my teenaged son to eat at Vick's at their new location today. I have good memories of eating at Vicks years ago at their classic little red shack on the corner of Port and Leopard. Unfortunately, Vick's new building next door is void of character -- florescent lighting and styrofoam cups in a small box-shaped room with 2 big screenes TVs. When my son's bacon cheeseburger arrived, the meat was overcookeded and the bun burned. The fries were cold and limp. I ordered the chicken tacos (fried corn tortillas with very little shredded chicken inside). The iceberg lettuce and sliced tomatoes were at least fresh. The girl at the counter did not welcome us when we arrived and was not any help during ordering. Her attitude communicated that we were an inconvenience and she had much more important things to do, so hurry up. The only words she spoke were to inform us that there are no free refills on the iced tea we had ordered. No thank you or goodbye when we left. I prefer to "shop local" but any fast food chain beats this place hands down in every category....

I visited Vick’s Famous Hamburgers and left extremely disappointed. First off, the drive-thru menu prices are completely outdated. I ordered the 2-piece 5oz flounder platter listed at $13.99, only to be charged $19.99 at the window. When I questioned it, I was told the menu “hasn’t been updated in years.” That’s unacceptable for a business serving the public.

Unfortunately, the food was even worse. The fish was absolutely awful—extremely strong in smell and taste, like it had gone bad. I enjoy seafood regularly, and I’ve never had fish that tasted this off. The burger was mediocre at best—3 stars if I’m being generous. The patties didn’t taste like fresh ground beef, and the fries were undercooked and still tasted half frozen.

To top it all off, I got a slice of chocolate mousse pie that tasted sour and had a crumbly, stale crust. I honestly worried it might have been expired.

I paid over $38 for a meal that left me upset and concerned for my health. As a hardworking customer, I expect better quality, honesty, and food safety. Sadly, I won’t...
