Update 1/23: operating as was pre-Covid. No draft beer - the beer lines are outside and freeze - go figure. The price for a tiny cup of chicken noodle soup is $11.50. I wouldn't mind paying that for a decent sized bowl, but this was ridiculous small. Great views but the building is pretty darn cold. Update 12/20: due to COVID, Mid Gad has made major changes. Upstairs is no longer a cafeteria. Rather it's sitdown dining and reservations are suggested. We've eaten here twice. The food is pricey but very good. The fish sandwich and seared ahi are excellent. The service was great on the first visit, but was horrible on the second. Karl the server was totally incompetent. If you get him ask for another server. Downstairs you can order the basics and grab a seat where you can. 12/19: Great loaded fries, great blue burger and a nice beer selection.

If you want to donate a limb to afford resort food and conjure up the mental toughness to deal with the high density Jerry population, then Mid-Gad is the place to be! Don't get the bratwurst though. This mediocre meal is sure to disappoint. From the soggy bun to the poor overall construction, your 8 year old could make a better hot dog in the microwave. When I asked for a replacement they gladly complied and completely resolved the situation by providing a NEW bun that was twice as large as the first one. While this was the worst experience I've ever had with dining at Snowbird or any resort, I'll probably be back when my parents come to visit and pay for the meal. I'll be sure to try the burger next time.

A beautiful mid-mountain stop when you need a quick pick me up or a warm up. We enjoyed the fresh, house made chips with queso on top. A great restart to get us going again. There is also a cool little eating area that is enclosed outside where you can sit and pair watch while you enjoy snacks from home in a cozy space.

The Mid-Gad serves regular overpriced ski lodge food. I spent over 40 bucks for a fried chicken sandwich, chill, and a Gatorade. The chicken was overcooked and the chili was luke warm.

The Mid-Gad is a great location though. The restaurant and most seating is UPSTAIRS. There is limited indoor seating and some outdoor picnic tables on the ground floor where the restrooms and water fountain are.

The Mid-Gad is prohibitively crowded at lunch time, on weekends/holidays.

My favorite way to take a break at the Mid-Gad is to never go upstairs. I carry snack/protein bars and a small, empty water bottle that I fill at the water fountain.

On the ground level you have the option to take a short break without taking much stuff off. It's easier to stay geared up and regulate your temperature on the ground floor. Upstairs is very warm, forcing you to dismantle to stay cool, so you'll naturally stay awhile (and spend a ton on...

This is a restaurant situated about halfway up the mountain of Snowbird Ski Resort. It's quite a typical resort restaurant with burgers, sandwiches, drinks, and desserts, all with high prices. I originally wanted a small cup of chili, but the cashier charged me for large and couldn't figure out how to cancel it. The charge went through, so I said I'll take a burger instead and pay for the difference since the burger was more expensive. Since they messed up, they said I could just have the burger without extra charge, so I got a burger with pepper jack cheese and the homemade chips that came with it. The meat was a bit hard and it wasn't a very flavorful burger, but that's quite expected from a ski resort cafeteria. The chips were alright but some were stale. It was also quite expensive, as the burger would've been around $16 post-tax if not for the...
